Sluizer: this is a super restaurant you won’t want to miss dinning there whenever you are in Amsterdam. We arrived in Amsterdam the weekend before Queens Day and after walking around, we were tired and hungry when walked into Sluizer’s. What an accidental wonderful choice. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we felt the warmth and charm of this... More

By way of intro, our friend Marty from The DreamPoolBar in SXM told us to look up his brother Marco in Amsterdam. Best advice ever!!! Sluizer is a wonderful restaurant right on Tram 4 route. also, for us , a quick 7 minute walk. Since it is white asparagus season, I had the Asparagus with gravel starter. Steve had the... More

I had dinner here recently with friends and the food, service and wine were excellent. I would highly recommend the scallops to start and the creme brulee for dessert....

We went to dinner here after a long afternoon wandering around the Keukenhof gardens. The ambiance and decor were pleasant. There was an interesting antique box camera near the door - the biggest I've ever seen - with a lens about 10cm across and the photographic plate looked like it would be about 60cm. The staff were multi-lingual, very friendly,... More

The greatest service from the owner and his staff for our group from Canada. Lots of fun. The food was excellent as well, and if you get a chance try some of their "parfait" - like ice cream only the best we have ever tasted. Don't miss this restaurant. Make a reservation. It is a popular spot and worth the... More

The food at Sluizer is of a very good quality and given the portion sizes on offer, make sure you turn up hungry. The king prawn and scallop starter was nice and fresh, but completely lacked seasoning. The main course was just insane - three racks of ribs came out on a plate each of which was sticky and falling... More

After strolling around Amsterdam all day my friend and I fortuitously dropped in to Sluizer for dinner. What is it about these amazing Amsterdammers? From owner to waiters to busboys...all of them are charming, helpful, accommodating, pleasant. How does this happen? I don't know but I know I like it and the food is amazing also. We had a delicious... More

We visited this restaurant in a large tour group so the kitchen at Sluizer must have been challenged to deliver 30 meals ordered at the same time, but they had all the dishes served within a few minutes of each other. Our meals were hot, attractively presented, and tasty. I recommend the red fish and cod. Delicious! The staff were... More

I had a very nice leek and potato soup and then the fish stew. Very tasty. There a lots of choices, with set dinners fior each of vegetarian, fish and meat. Service was attentive. My party of 4 took their wine recommendation, but it was a bit unexciting. We stayed late and they didnt rush us. Maybe a bit pricey, but... More
