Description: Restaurant Beddingtons? Book early. One of Amsterdams most beloved and lauded chef/owners, English-born Jean Beddington creates her magic nightly in a beautifully austere setting that is always packed out with devoted diners. The dcor is smart and sleekly modern in a two-tone palette black and white that lets the food take centre stage. An open kitchen lets you in on the action the creation of her personal French-based cuisine that includes strong influences from her years in Japan, her English roots, and everything else that she has experienced. A short menu of three or four courses changes each day. Recent dishes included starter of Gillardeau oysters on granite of cucumber, spring onion and Japanese ginger with bean sprout/wakame salad, main course of slow-roasted Baambrugs pork belly with cavolo nero, sage sauce and mushroom/black pudding beignet, and dessert of cannoli with goats milk ricotta, buttermilk panna cotta, gentian sorbet and blueberries. Short, international wine list. A short skip from museums and the Concertgebouw.

Hidden in a little alley off the Amstel canal, this is a truly outstanding restaurant. The menu is short but well thought of: Three-four starters, same number of first dishes and main courses and a wide selections of wines. Minimalistic but at the same time cosy with friendly people and excellent service! I would't hesitate to strongly recommend it. More

My wife and I have eaten here a couple of times. The price is good, the set menus changes are always full of a nice surprise. Food is fresh, and expertly put together with good tastes influenced by Asian, French, and Mediterian taste. Quite interesting dishes full of flavour. The wine selection is good and decently priced. The service is... More

Wow, we have enjoyed fabulous worldwide travel and restaurants ( I'm a long - haul airline pilot) - this is the best food we have experienced ! Sarah and I celebrated her 40th birthday here on a cold January Saturday. We were uncertain as we walked in , the room is an odd shape and I really wasn't sure whether... More

Enjoyed a birthday dinner here recently. This smallish restaurant is pleasantly appointed and staffed by friendly laid-back waitresses. A fun feature of the lay-out is the open kitchen, with about half the tables having a direct view on whats going on with their orders. The food is good, with a few subtle and suprising innovations on traditional grourmet recipes (e.g.... More

We ate here the first weekend in December. The food is really good! Very imaginative, but not weird. The staff was so nice and friendly. The restaurant...is slightly out of the way, if coming from the old center. But, then again, not really. Worth the trip anyway. However, it seems, that most good restaurants in Amsterdam are located out of... More

Find your way to this jewel in the narrow streets around Amstedams canals, and you wont be disappointed. The atmosphere was quietly relaxing , the staff attentive and knowledgable , and the food superb. My selections were a beetroot puree soup , with blinis of smoked eel and horseradish creme , pheasant in a miso gravy/sauce , and a platter... More

We have followed this restaurant since its opening. Due to the opening of many new restaurants in Amsterdam we have not visited Beddington's as regular as in the past. It was therfore a pleasure to go there again and find out what we have missed. The food was great and different from any other Amsterdam restaurant. Service beyond Dutch treatment.... More

We have been to this restaurant twice now and have recommended family who also loved it. The staff know everything that is on the menu and more. They also can give you tips on what wine will go with what's on the menu. The fish is always good here, and the desserts and cheese are always outstanding! My Husband and... More

Were should I get started? Beddington's is one of those places you go to and then you know it will be very-very difficult to top-up by anything better. Especially if you are leaving in Amsterdam. No offence, there are great restaurants in town but few of them have it all right: quality, service, location, atmosphere, price. We enjoyed the classy... More

Off the City centre of Amsterdam and you reall have to work to find the place and it was well worth the effort! The narrow dinning room can be a bit on the tight side but the food was very good, it wasn't cheap but you get what you paid for. More
