Colleagues advised it for a business lunch and it is indeed a very good place for several reasons: Lots of space, you are not sitting on the knees of your neighbour, which is the case in some restaurants. The food is really nice and the service is excellent as well. But it is very expensive and the food is not... More

Last time I was at Yamazato, I have had the extraordinary honor of Mr. Oshima remembering me from a previous experience and coming to say hello. It was a while back, but now I see He has been knighted into the Dutch Royal order. And yes, this institution is that good! I have been fortunate enough to have wagyu demonstrations... More

Ate at this restaurant one night with my husband because of the reviews we had found on tripadvisor. We were really disappointed as we thought this was going to be really special. The food was good but not outstanding and we ended up paying over 200 Euro for two, which was ridiculous and definitely not worth it. Kitchen closed at... More

This Japanese restaurant is one of the best I have visited outside of Japan. They have a good selection of dishes, but the main focus of this restaurant is sushi. And they are good at it. The service is very good, much better than most other restaurants in Amsterdam. It seems the staff is Japanese, since they speak English to... More

This one Michelinstar Japanese Restaurant is exquisite. Absolutely amazingly fresh fish, best wagyu beef in town, the most delicate dishes with very subtle tastes and beautiful styling. The service is outstanding, especially for Amsterdam standards! More

We went for the seasonal tasting menu with accompanying wine, which overall was a great introduction into Japanese haute cuisine...although it is a lot of wine/sake so by the end of the night you will be severely intoxicated. But it's worth it, as some of the wines/sake's were new to me and have made me want to explore them some... More

I live in Tokyo, and was getting sick of all the cheese and bread in Europe on my recent trip, so I went to Yamazato for comfort food: yakisakana teishoku (grilled fish with rice, miso, and pickles). This hit the spot, and the service was terrific. Of course this price of comfort came at a cost. The only thing not... More
