What can I say....the food was amazing, the service fantastic, and we were shocked when the bill arrived at how little it was!!!!! Amazing!!!

Highly recommended. Service was very friendly (we don't speak Dutch) and the food was excellent. The owner came over for a chat and it was a lovely evening. The place was full of locals, including families and had a lively atmosphere. A gem in the centre of Assen.

I heard 'De Gulle Gans' means 'Generous (giving away) goose' in Dutch. Very nice place to eat. Highly recommended. Service and food at very good level. A bit pricy, but then that's what you expect for decent food I guess.

Went in there based on previous Trip Advisor reviews. It was so good that I went back there the next evening. Restaurant is located in a converted house with some very friendly staff. In my opinion this is the best restaurant in Assen. Friendly service, but book ahead. I love that instead of a big dessert, you can just have a chocolate/bonbon for dessert.
