We ate in the Walliserkanne Steak House and we found the steaks served absolutely fantastic although very expensive for what we actually had. Typical Swiss prices. Don't eat there if you are on a budget as 2 cokes and 2 sirloin steaks were almost £100.

Had a quick bit before a concert (Unplugged Zermatt) which was delicious with speedy, professional service.

We ordered starters & mains & nothing came out together. We waited quite a while & then the first thing to arrive on the table was the salad that came with the main course. None of the starters had arrived. The salad was finished and then came 2 soups & a pasta. The final entree did not arrive. This had... More

We tried the tomato fondue (which we like better than cheese fondue as it is lighter) and also fondue chinois. Food was pretty good, service was pretty good as well (which is quite rare in Europe we found).

Not cheap but then nothing is in Switzerland. The meat fondue is all you can eat. They do bring fries and a big salad so I am sure they are counting on you not eating that much eat. The meat is very nice and tender and all prime

Dear guest, we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your meat fondue ‘à discretion’ and thank you for your visit to our restaurant. It is normal for us here in Europe to serve a salad as a starter/side and french fries as a side to a meat fondue. This isn’t just to fill the guests stomachs so that they... More

The restaurant seemed full but we got a table within 5 minutes. Ordered two pizzas that tasted very good (somewhat spicy salami though). The waiters were very slow however and somewhat not interested in serving the customers. The restaurant was fairly big so it's not your cosy place to eat.

I will preface this review by saying that I have been eating at the Walliserkanne for the last 46 years and I have always, in the past, found it to be good food, good value for money and attentive service. Today I ate there with a friend who was staying in Zermatt and who has also eaten there before. We... More

Dear guest, we are really pleased to hear that you, as a regular customer, still enjoy our food. We are sorry to hear that our waiters aren’t up to your expectations any more although most of them have been working here for many years – some in fact for over 20 years. Surely it would have been easier to just... More

Were in Zermatt for a week, and, yes, eating out is expensive. We chose the Walliserkanne 3 times as their set menu ( of 3 courses ) was just our taste and was really delicious. We thought it was good value (for Zermatt!!) for around 37SF each. Service was excellent; highly recommended.

I decided for a pizza here, because they had one that seems interesting (quatro amici it was called). I knew pizzas are made here in a wood oven, so that is normally a big plus. I certainly was not disappointed, it was one of the best pizzas I have had recently. Not the best, but certainly very good. I had... More

When we got there the Maitre d'hotel was very rude to us and didn't welcome us into the restaurant. He made us wait by the door, and said that he didn't have any tables free, but very brusquely putting his hand out in front of him and saying "No, No", before rushing past us. At the time the front half... More

We would like to thank you for your visit to our restaurant and would also like to provide you with our view of the situation: You entered our restaurant after 2 pm, were greeted by our Maitre D and because all the tables were already ocupied, asked to wait at the entrance (because unlike at the doctor’s, we do not...
