Walking around Lucca in search of a nice dinner spot that serves fresh fish. Happily we found Canuleia, off the main touristy streets. I had roasted piglet and my wife had the rabbit. The pig served on top of mashed potatoes was very forgettable. It wasn't seasoned, even with the skimpy mustard and fleur de sel smudge. The skin was gelatinous and not crispy. The rabbit was tasty, though, thus the average overall rating.

Loved the food, ate in garden for lunch. Service was attentive & personal. More French style that Italian, but well percieved and executed. Flavours are well balanced, and portion sizes not overwhelming. Loved the secluded back garden area, felt like we were in someones home! Would return.
