Description: Don't save La Cucina del Garga for your last day in Florence or you'll need to extend your stay for the irresistible second visit. Occupying the ground floor of a 14th century palazzo, La Cucina del Garga is a treat for eyes and palate. The proprietors' original paintings bring the dining room to life, while another kind of art is created in La Cucina del Garga's kitchen. The chaotic sounds of chopping and clanging, shouting and singing, all signal an authentic Italian kitchen in the charge of a seasoned maestro. At La Cucina del Garga, chefs Sharon Oddson and Giuliano Gargani have raised to an art the preparation of traditionally inspired Tuscan dishes from the finest local and seasonal ingredients. La Cucina del Garga offers cooking classes including one day in Florence and four-day and eight-day tours of Tuscany.

The fettuccine with lemon zest and creamy brandy sauce sounds unusual but it was amazing. I almost ordered a second serving of it, it was THAT good. The kitchen had an off night and our entree took extra long to come out but the owner knew we were celebrating our honeymoon (my husband mentioned it when he called to book)... More

My wife and I ate dinner here on May 9th. We ordered: calamari w avocado; spaghetti w tomato sauce; my wife had chicken w asparagus and I had spicy octopus on white beans; and a bottle of "Il Sassolo" (nice soft/light red wine). The food was excellent - likely in the top meals we've had in Italy so far over... More

We wondered walking down the street if we were in the right place but we kept walking and came across a well presented. It was the best food we had in Florence and would never have come across it by chance due to its slightly out of the main squares location. The service was generally attentive although desserts onwards we... More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant - we went early, when they first opened. There are two good sized rooms, plenty of tables. When we came in we were asked if we had reservations and when we said no, the person doing the seating made it seem like we were being bad and we may not be able to eat. So... More

One of my best friend's used to live on San Zanobi. Every time we were in the neighborhood she kept insisting that we try this restaurant because she used to pass it everyday. On the evening of NotteBianca in Florence, we decided to give this place a try. As soon as we walked in the door, we were greeted by... More

Me and my aunt we just loved! It was the best place in Florence for eat. We're very well treated, the place is very beautiful, with many pieces of art contemporary in the walls from the Florence's artists. It's just amazing and the food is incredible!!! You can't leave without eating the lemon tart - a piece of heaven :)

I ate here with my wife and children together with 4 friends from Florence on a recent Saturday evening. Despite us running very late on the night, we were served promptly and professionally throughout our evening, the waiter was friendly and chatty, speaking both Italian and English, and the food was consistently very good. The ambience is cosy but sophisticated,... More

My wife and I really enjoyed this place. A co-worker highly recommended it to her after he heard about our trip to Florence. Food was incredible! Definitely would make this a stop if you stay a night in Florence. Interestingly, we also heard about this place from a tour guide in the area. It seems to be a quiet gem... More

The food was top notch and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The service was generally good with the exception that they forgot to bring our expresso for a long time, but they were extremely apologetic about the delay once we brought it to their attention.
