We found this restaurant by accident. We were walking in the rain and needed a place for a long, sit down lunch before catching a train. We ended up here. The staff was very curteouus. The menu was entirely in Italian so we asked a few questions and winged it. We all loved the fried artichokes! The pastas were very... More

We had planned to go to a different restaurant the Monday after Easter in the same neighborhood and it was unexpectedly closed. So, we just wandered around and came in off the street to eat in La Martinicca. It was clearly a family restaurant and the whole family was working in various functions. The menu was in Italian and the... More

Homemade pasta was very good. When we went, atmosphere was quiet - only five table occupied. The owner and staff were friendly and checking on us to make sure everything was ok. More

Came here for dinner based on the other reviews. Good service but poor atmosphere and very disappointed with quality of the food. Had the famous Florentine steak - minimum 600gram - not tender enought to warrant recommend, we had better at half the price across the river. Good wine list but expensive. Dinner for 2, starter and main, water and... More

The restaurant was located litterally a 2 min walk from our hotel. The night we were there it was bitter cold outside so the short walk was very appreciated. The decor is nothing special (lots of greens) but the food is worth coming back for. My beef with black truffles was moist and flavourful, and best of all, they didn't... More

A warm, inviting restaurant with excellent food. The pasta dishes were especially good. More

A small, family run restaurant located near to Santa Maria Novella. The decor is dated but the seats are comfortable and as it is divided up into 3 rooms it isn't too noisy. There were a mix of locals and visitors dining on the night we went. We had the bistecca fiorentina which was delicious and the serving was huge.... More

Finding a place to eat in Florence is hard because of all the choices. We went to dinner here because of good reviews and it was 2 minutes away from the hotel we were staying at. Upon entrance, the restaurant gives off a welcoming vibe. There was a good crowd. It was mostly locals. The menu was completely in Italian... More

This small family owned restaurant served very unique home made pasta dishes. The pear, gorgonzola and lemon ravioli were divine. The lamb is also delicious. More

After two attempts to visit La Martinicca I finally succeeded in finding it open for lunch on January 4th. My guess is that it was closed for the holidays like many other restaurants. I am glad I persisted because the meal was one of the better ones I had in Florence. The restaurant is located on a side street close... More
