We saw from previous reviews that we should book in advance, and were so glad that we did. It's a wonderfully cosy little restaurant, just off the Piazza della Signoria (where the palazzo vecchio and the statue of david is) and had half a dozen or so tables. It was a Thursday evening and there were plenty of people being... More

It's a small family run restaurant and it was fully booked for dinner for over a week! We had reservations before we left for Italy even and when we tasted the food, , we understood why. Everything was great. I had the duck sauce pasta, my friends had the seafood pasta. Then we had veal. It was so good. So... More

Just returned from a fantastic night at Vini e Vechi. Really enjoyed our experience of this cosy little restaurant which we booked the night before (reservations highly recommended). We had the buffalo mozzarella & prosciutto to start, which was very nice. Primi piatti was the duck pappardelle (delicious) & ricotta & spinach ravioli w/ a creamy tomato sauce (bellisimo). Secondi... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by friends as a must visit while in Florence. Unfortunately, we did not make reservations in advance thinking that we could walk in and wait. Little did I know that it actually is really small (seats maybe 15-20) and intimate. It is the quintessential Italian restaurant. My wife and I were constantly looking for... More

Booked a reservation well ahead of time based on TA reviews. Max capacity seems right around 16 people. There were 4 of us so we had our own table. Could see that on a couple of the 4-tops, 2 couples were seated together. Not great if you are looking for a quiet, intimate dinner but awesome if you want to... More

I had my best meal while travelling in Italy in this place last year. It took some time(to write this review) but I strongly suggest this place for anyone who has got celiacic disease or wheat/gluten allergy. Our waiter tomas (thommasi?) knew exactly what I was talking about and since there was not suitable dish on the menu he got... More

The other glowing reviews from this small but intimate place are spot on. It’s tiny with seating for only about 16 folks but we managed to snag a table by the door right away. Apparently a reservation was a no-show. While we ate, the owner turned away a lot of folks, just telling them to come back tomorrow. Our rabbit... More

We dined here twice, first dinner and then returned next day for lunch. Excellent food, wonderful experience both times. Small and very full - clearly worth a small wait outside as many did. Right next to the Piazza della Signoria, but very reasonable prices. People chat across tables, locals and tourists - great atmosphere, not least due to the relaxed,... More

The waiter sat down right next to us and explained the whole menu with much patience and kindness, making recommendations when asked. Outstanding Caprese salad, fine house wines, and pasta in creamy squash-blossom sauce was wonderful. Good pheasant, rabbit and stuffed artichoke dishes. The decor was negligible, but the happy, welcoming vibe made for a great night. More

Had dinner tonight and it couldn't have been better anywhere for twice the price. Two people, one appetizer, two pasta dishes, and two meat dishes. They were all to die for! The cost was €50 (total)) for two) and we could barely walk out. There are only about six tables, so you really must make a reservation. It deserves its... More
