I was looking for this restaurant for lunch after visiting the Bargello...and since it is just around the corner I though i would take a go at the fixed menu (for 12 euros). It sounded very tempting, as you could enjoy 2 courses and one of them was soup, something I really wanted to taste. I took the vegetable soup... More

We have eaten out alot in 6 weeks and this meal was one of our favourites. Tucked away next to the Museo del Bargello and recommended by a florentine friend, we were met and waited on by the owner who was really interested in making sure we enjoyed what we ate. The chef has some awards which were shown on... More

Stumbled upon this small place after leaving another restaurant when we could not get anyone to take our order. We were starving, in a bad mood, and willing to eat just about anything – a risky state to be in Florence. This place is pretty small, and there was only one waiter. He spoke limited, but just enough, English. While... More

When my daughter was a student in Florence, she took us to Aqua Il Due and we had a fantastic meal, so I headed there with my two friends in tow. We'd been on an overnight flight, stayed up & now just wanted an early dinner & some sleep. When we got there, we were told they don't start serving... More

Stopped here for a quick late-afternoon snack of bruschetta and mushroom crostini. The food was excellent and the little table we had outside was quite comfortable for Florentine street-side dining. We wish we had ordered more or come back for dinner another night. The waiter was a little brusque at the beginning, but he warmed up by the time we... More

Sunday lunchtime in the historic centre of Florence - weary after a morning exploring the Flea Markets at Piazza dei Ciompi but determined to find a typical Florentine family restaurant rather than succumb to the tourist offerings all around us. Down a narrow little street, behind the Museo del Bargello we found the delightful Il Barroccio - small and busy... More

We had a great meal here on our first night in Florence. The restaurant is tucked away and never got full. The food was delicious; we had Crostini with mushrooms followed by Florentine roast pork and a gorgeous vegetable pasta made with courgette flowers. The service was fast and attentive. More

I stayed for 4 days in Florence, and I should admit this restaurant provide the best value and foods compare with other... I ordered the package menu from starter, first dish meal (pasta), second dish meal (meat + side dishes) and Deserts. I love all the foods, especially the Tiramisu.. More

We were dubious from the outside but this place is fantastic - we've been back several times and intend to go again. We had the chestnut lasagne with wild boar and porcini - fantastic flavours and only 10 euro each. More

We LOVED our meal here. We went on the recommendation of a friend and were suspicious when it was nearly empty. It is perfectly situated between P. Signoria and S. Croce, I have no idea why it was not packed, because the food was fantastic and fresh. We had the crostini di fegato and procuitto to start - they were... More
