It is complicated in a touristic area that is quiet in the winter to keep a variety of choices on the menu. We would have liked to try fish, lamb or other Sardinian specialities, but they were not available at this time of year for lunch. What we had instead wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. More

Great little local trattoria near the sea-front- we had a great garlic octopus salad to start followed by wild boar stew and traditional suckling pig and a bottle of Sardinian wine- all the restaurants seem to have a good choice of local wine. Alghero has a lot of restaurants, especially along the wall, but most of these are overpriced tourist traps. We got Trattoria Cavour recommended to us and got a very pleasant welcoming.
