After a long period of absence,I was back in Venice to witness at the America's Cup .At my fav hotel,I was suggested by its clever front office manager Steven to have lunch to the newly reopened Hostaria da Franz. It's still located in the Castello area but closer to Saint Mark,I strongly suggest you to ask for detailed info to get... Lovely out of the way and authentic. May 2011 was the oldest date I could choose but actually this was at least 10 years ago More

We were looking forward to a classy venetian meal with a twist, and instead found ourselves in just another tourist trap. Do not be fooled by the tucked in location. The food was bad, in fact the main (some poorly fried zucchini flowers stuffed with fish) was practically unedible, the prices steep (we paid 90Eur per head), the wine card... More

Unexpected from outside. Very elegant place, good food, excellent wine selection. Very kind staff, the owner will receive you and tell what they have to offer. You'll eat whatever they have found fresh in the market on the day. Have to make reservation. More

This restaurant is in a very quiet part of Venice; no street crowds! Its the perfect place to sit outside on the lagoon, drink some Prosecco, and have a meal. The food is very good, but a bit pricey we thought. Probably our most relaxing night tho! More

This is a tiny restaurant situated on a small canal near the Giardini that is a favourite for visitors to the Biennale. In good weather the outdoor seating on the canal is a great joy. The menu is limited in size but the food is consistently good and is accompanied by a small but decent wine list. Service is friendly... More

A very good service and good food This was our first time, we had lunch and like it a lot, it was recommended by someone at another restaurant, we will be back included some photos, please don't mind the decoration on... This restaurant is a world apart from the crazy crowds, queues and tackiness of parts of Venice. It was the highlight of our trip and ranked up with the best restaurants Europe has to offer (and we have been to a few, including El Bulli!). Amazing food and elegant yet friendly service. Sorry it has taken us so long to... More

The place was recommended by the hotel staff after we asked them to direct us to a restaurant serves Venetian food that the locals consider as the top. We found out, later on, that it was recommended by many reputable food critique magazines and place celebrities often visit. You will be greeted by the owner himself with his nice friendly... More

many months ago,in one of my venetian stays at the hotel Bucintoro, its delightful man ager at the lobby desk -Mr Steven-,suggested me this small yet cozy restaurant in the Castello neighbourhood. It's not so easy to find it but as soon as you walk in,you truly find a very small room, few tables but the service is up to your expectations. It's enough...
