Good fun this one. Live jazz on Monday's, a trio every week and then other musicians in the area come on an ad hoc basis.
The food is excellent but don't expect to be fawned over by your server.

We were given the name of this restaurant by someone who lives in Venice. Our hotel made reservations for us (and trust me, you need reservations!). This place was great!! It is on a small quiet canal in Cannaregio. You really need to either know your Italian or take a book to help you order. The menu is in Italian...

We used this as our local aperitivo bar for a week, and ate here on one of our last nights. Sadly the pasta prepared using a whole pecorino cheese had sold out - I had set my heart on it. Still, the lasagna with artichokes was very good. Not so convinced about the mixed antipasto, much of which had been...

On a recommendation from our hotel, we arrived at this Cannaregio restaurant early but without reservations. The no-nonsense waitress we first encountered said "Ok, but you have to be out by 9 because we are fully booked." We agreed and were seated at a long communal table, next to an Italian couple. Most of the smaller tables lining the sides...

This is almost totally a sea food restaurant . The atmosphere is fantastic very well patronised by locals and you will need to book even for lunch at the weekends .
The menu is almost totally sea food but is fab and all very reasonably priced .

Whilst not a gatronomic paradise, the atmosphere in this bar/restaurant more than made up for any shortcomings in the food. The menu was short and to the point, which was fine as we had chosen the establishment more for its lively atmosphere than because of the savoury treats on offer. In my opinion, the pudding (tiramisu) was better than the...

This came out with no programming. Neither found it in the travel guides. We were just looking for a place to eat after a long day. We were just passing by and decided to get in as it was full of people and thought that there must be something good to be so noisy. Entering inside you find yourself in...

Little back street bar and restaurant. Food was out of this world - especially if you like seafood. Live music on the night we went there made for a fantastic atmosphere. Staff were really great. A real little gem.

A lovely place in Venice, mainly for locals. Great seafood and the staff is very friendly. The food is very home style, fresh and very plentifull. The place is very casual with fireplace and wood ornaments. Reservation is a must.

"Paradiso Perduto" was our best experience in Venice. We were there in the late August heat, and it proved a cultural refuge from the crowds and hyper-touristic hoopla. "Paradiso Perduto" is off the beaten path, at the far side of the main islands. The streets in that neighborhood are safe and quiet, but boy, this little joint is jumping!! Get...
