Just come back from 4 nights in Venice, and ate at Al Bacco twice, having found it by accident in the back streets not far from my hotel. Would highly recommend this restaurant, good value, delicious food, and friendly, unobtrusive service. I particularly enjoyed the Baccala (salt cod) and the Frittura Mista (mixed fried sea-food). Sea food is definitely the... More

i went their to enjoy a good plate of pasta. i was immediately told that all the pasta dishes are to be ordered for 2 people. so even if 2 people want to eat pasta, they have to order the same pasta. anyway, once we agreed, no choice, to order the same pasta. we waited for 25 mins for our... More

Was my first meal in Venice - and did not disappoint. I was recommended by the hotel I was staying at in the area. The service was good. The mixed seafood appetizer was excellent. I had the grilled tuna with polenta and a side of mixed vegtables. Tuna and vegetables were great, but the polenta was pretty standard. For all... More

Hidden away in the backstreets of Venice, not far from the Ghetto, this restaurant is well worth searching out, providing you like fish. It’s traditional Venetian fare with pasta and fish dominating. Although it’s fairly basic décor the food more than makes up for that and was some of the best we had. Noticeably we were the only non Italians... More

I was first introduced to this charming and typical restaurant in the 1980s by a good Venetian friend. I have been going back ever since. The owner is charming, good-natured, and welcoming. The food is unpretentious, for the most part typically Venetian, and overwhelmingly fish. It is not cheap - at least, not for those who have not been going... More

Had a good but a quite pricey meal in this little Venetian Osteria on the quiet back canals of Canareggio. The evening we were there the main part of the restaurant was almost completely occupied with a large party from Germany but can't imagine this happens too often. Enjoyed the excellent fish. More
