Zagat guide steered us to a nearby restaurant that was supposed to be Moderately priced but was in fact ridiculously expensive! A kind local directed us here, and we will return whenever we are in Rome. Fantastic, authentic, Roman cuisine in a very attractive setting.

The restaurant we went to for dinner was closed and it was getting late, so it was a relief to come across La Pollarola near Campo de Fiore. The friendly staff and interesting menu made for a great evening. So good, in fact, that we returned a few nights later.

I have been teaching in Rome every summer since 1982. This is when I first ate at the best restaurant in Rome; at least my favorite. I always take friends there because you will never have a bad meal. Oh, I wish I was there now! Every summer I go to La Pollarola several times a week.
