A fantastic little find! Highly recommend hunting down this genuine Italian eatery - the proscuitto and mozzarella was so delicious and don't miss the tiramisu.

Food- typical Roman food- is excellent, good selection and big portions as well.Good wine list, wine also by glas.Pleasant service
We were a bit put off by the off-hand way the manager ('il direttore') received us: he was on the phone, barely looked at us as he pointed to a free table. But the waiters were very professional and friendly. Matricianella has a very extensive wine list (about 600 wines), so prepare for some time choosing one, unless you know...

This restaurant could not be more centrally located, being behind the Italian parliament building. It serves typical Italian (or I should say Roman) food. Very well done. Tasty, nicely served by kind staff. I'd say that it is especially good for lunch although it gets crowded pretty quickly. Better to call and reserve as space is limited.
I-m rating this restaurant because is located in an area where most of the restaurants are awfully expensive and the quality is rather low. If you find yourself in that area is one of the few place where you can get good food not costing a king's ransom
I first dined at Matricianella in February of 2009. The reason we chose this restuarant was because Emanuele Scarello, the famous Michelin Starred chef, says that this is the first restaurant he goes to while he's in Rome. I knew as an...

I'm Italian from Toscana.
Inside the restaurant is the real "osteria" atmosphere, very cool and unformal.
The building is nice in one of the dozens beautiful places in Rome, close to Castel Sant'Angelo and Tevere river.
Go directly to Roman food and mainly into pasta: cacio e pepe is almost the best in Rome, also alla Gricia, Amatriciana is delicious...

I ate at the Matricianella because a local shopkeeper recommended it.
I had fettuccine alla Romana (a red sauce with chicken liver which you won't find abroad), my companion had a spicy artichoke pasta followed by lamb sweetmeats.
The tables were small and the waiters carried on with colourful language, ignoring us for most of the time.
This is a...

Had read the reviews here and on Chowhound so was excited to add a new restaurant to my rotation.
Big fan of pasta all gricia and this was by far the worst I have ever tasted. There was simply no taste except for an overly smoky bacon like substance. It definately was not any guanciale I have ever had since...

This is a typical italian restaurant. The service is very good and also the location is perfect, after a shopping day in Via del Corso you can enjoy a wonderful dinner here.
There is a wide selection of wines (the wine menu is 8 cm thick :-) ) and the pasta and meat is delicious.
I would recommend the Spaghetti...
