Delicious food and local wine in a really cosmopolitan non-touristic setting. Great eats, reasonable prices, fantastic people watching in a calm but sophisticated environment

In a district (Piazza di Spagna) where tourists are often riped off (how harmful to tourism is a place like the Antica Roma Caffetteria, via di Propaganda, check on Tripadvisor) it is fantastic to find a place like this. Not only the food is exceptional, the wine excellent and the service friendly, but is is also incredibly cheap if you... More

Small modern restaurant and busy even on a Tuesday. Portions weren’t huge but very good food and very reasonable wine prices. We were happy to go back the following night but as the menu was limited and a table not guaranteed we tried other places later in the week, but this place gave us the best food from our holiday.

Great spot to eat, drink and purchase items specific to Regione Lazio. We bought some Sabina DOP olive oil that is amazing. Nice selection of reasonably priced wines. Loved it so much, went back again, but unfortunately they are closed on Sundays.

This Bar/Restaurant serves exclusively Lazio region food. They also sell Lazio Region wines and foods. They have olive oil (that is sold there) on each table to sample with bread. The servers speak english and are attentive. The food is very good but a bit pricey if you have Anitpasti, Primi, and Secondi. Stick with a Primi or Secondi and... More

Compact modern wine bar near shopping area and the Spanish Steps. We had dinner and wine by the glass one evening after all of the shops had closed. The area was lightly populated and it was a nice walk from our hotel on Via Veneto. Good window shopping and an unexpected celebrity/paparazzi sighting on the way. The wine list was... More

In a great spot near the Spanish Steps and open for a later lunch. The food is seasonal and local and there are wonderful local wines to chose from. The service was fine, we had a little wait for a drink at one stage but the waitress just took off the bill without us having to ask! Would definitely return.

Entering a wine bar in the centre of Rome could be hazardous, particularly if you like eating high-quality food without spending a fortune. Palatium can surprise you: despite being located in the famous street of Via Frattina, prices are pretty fair. The variety of dishes is quite limited because of the meticulous selection of ingredients. I chose pasta with organic... More

We went to the Spanish Steps and tried to find a non-touristy place for lunch. Palatium was not in our plan but what a great find it was! Its unassuming exterior is a bit hard to spot in comparison to all other restaurants in the area but the food and ambiance were both to our liking. The food is from... More

My husband booked Palatium for my birthday dinner. It only sources it's food and wine from the region - Lazio - and is apparently backed by the regional government. It's in the middle of the fashion district and close to the Spanish Steps but it's the least touristy restaurant we've visited in a long while. We ordered our food and... More
