After reading the reviews we booked a table here. However we found the atmosphere a bit dead for Rome...somewhat stiff and lacking the atmosphere we came across in other restaurants. Also the food was just ok...nothing special. There really are restaurants in Rome. The pasta main course was pretty bad and the beef was dried up and tough. A fish... More

I'm one of the few who has never had a good meal in Rome. Then, thanks to Trip Advisor, I found Al Duello. Al Duello was a short walk from our hotel in the Piazza Narvona area. Martina greeted us at the door and was the perfect hostess. Her energy, excitement and obvious love for her restaurant made for the... More

The dinner was great from the moment we arrived. Martina greated us with a contagious energy. The meal was unreal; we had the eggplant pie, sea bass carpaccio, spaghetti with muscles, gnocchi with sea bass and filet. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. We were lucky to have enjoyed it while in town!

We had a very romantic meal in the fantastic ambiance. The lady owner was gorgeous, so friendly, and gave some great recommendations for the food and wine choice. Food was top quality, at very reasonable prices. We will definitely be back again.

Yes, Martina and Simone's (hope I got spelling correct)trattoria is all the reviewers here say it is. We were able to get a reservation in early May to the restaurant. Martina rules this place with great efficiency and aplomb. She is relentless in making sure that her customers are tended to their every need. The pastas are all hand made... More

We had a group of 9 and the staff made us feel very welcome. Ordering dishes not on the menu was encouraged. Prices were reasonable. The restaurant was a little hard to find but well worth the trip. The ricotta with coffee was delicious, as was the zucchini-leek tart.

We went to the restaurant on the back of positive reviews on TA. This place is excellent! A top restaurant not just for Rome but as good as you'll find in any major city. We stuck to the specials of the day as this seemed sensible. Pasta (normal and gluten free) with clams and mussels was fantastic, mains of lamb... More

I had read very nice reviews of Al Duello on TA so added it to my list of places to try on my recent visit to Rome. The restaurant is small and lovely with a great selection of music. Martina, the server/maitre d' is the chef's wife and her energy is unbelievable! Always smiling and ever so flexible. A guest... More

We had an excellent dinner here on the last night of our honeymoon. We got the chef special that includes 7 courses, all chosen by the chef. Everything we tried was excellent and the prices were not bad. The Gnocchi was the best I've ever had and the chocolate souffle was absolutely incredible. Our waitress, the only one for the... More

We found this thanks to Tripadvisor and I'm so glad we did. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. I really recommend the chocolate souffle. Prices are a bit more expensive than a lot of the places we found, but definitely worth it if you're looking for somewhere to have a special or romantic meal.
