We came here upon the recommendation of a rome food tour operator. After being seated the waiter mocked us for saying grazie. We walked out, obviously they don't want tourists as customers.
Delicious food, tiny space, service is a bit cold if you're not italian, reservation is a must, cause it's a very popular place among locals. Dinner for 2 was around 40 euro with wine. They say Danilo has best carbonara in Rome - it was indeed very good.
The food at Da Danilo is really quite good. Its fresh and simple - like the best Italian food. Located near Piazza Vittorio Emanuele adjacent to the Termini, it is away from the tourists crowding the center. The owner's mother is running the kitchen and she does an amazing job. Its worth it to try the cacio e pepe just... More
Had lunch here on a Saturday. The appetisers (meatballs and a vegetable pastry) were great, and the pastas were amongst the best we had in our 2.5 weeks in Italy. Only $10euro for generous pasta serving also made it good value.
Very nice welcoming and great food and wine! I advise you to try the carbonara. Place is very cosy and the service is excellent.
This restaurant is a gem. The atmosphere is relaxed, warm and perfect. The location is convenient, just a short 10 minute walk from the Roma Termimi Station. I went with friends who are locals, so the selection of appetizers were amazing. The wine selection is fantastic as well. In addition to the award winning Carbonara, try the Baccala alla Romana... I live here in Rome and I go to this restaurant at least twice a month. I come here to enjoy the best carbonara in the world, it is cooked perfectly, juicy and the pasta is home made. Desserts are great as well, especially the sbriciolata with melted chocolate on top. Staff is friendly! Go!!!
The staff at the Napoleon Hotel recommended this traditional trattoria during our stay in Rome. The waiter was helpful with the menu and answered our questions. For an appetizer I ordered the buffalo mozzarella with anchovies which was very good. We drank house wine had a chocolate mousse for dessert. Overall, a good experience for our first dinner in Rome.
The food was excellent, you should get the entire appetizer platter. Pasta was great as was the specials. I had steak once and that was a mistake. Let them choose the wine, they know what they are doing. But what makes the restaurant special is the staff. From Mamma on down they all friendly and helpful. A special shout out... More
