Description: Rivadestra restaurant is appearing on more and more 10 Best Restaurants of Rome lists and youll understand why. Set in the Trastevere, Rivadestra reinterprets the luxury of the aristocratic papal Rome of the 1700s. The original 18th century doorway opens onto an intimate dining room set with scrubbed oak tables, coats of arms, suffused lighting, and impressive appointments. The menu changes every three weeks, and fresh ingredients are used to create a light new Italian Mediterranean cuisine. Past dishes have included home made tortelli filled with prawns and broccoli in cardoon stock, ravioli with rabbit and potato in cheese fondue, guinea fowl with foie gras, artichokes, and walnut sauce, and crme brulee with tobacco sauce. The forty-bottle wine list has been meticulously researched to present the most intriguing of Italian wines, representing every region.

Quiet spot, pleasant interior and seating. Like the fact that the bulk of the menu is also part of the four course $28 meal. Stefano does most of the work at the tables and also will find you a well priced wine if you tell him just a little about what you like. Visited twice in a 10 day span... More

I went to Rome for the first time this summer, and it was one of the most amazing trips I have ever been on. I also got engaged in Rome, which made Italy an even more special to me. The night of my engagement, my fiance and I went to the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to in... More

Finding a non-touristic and authentic restaurant in Rome is not an easy task. One of the ways to pinpoint such a place is looking at your wrist. A restaurant that feeds you before 8pm is for tourists. Unlike those, Rivadestra is the real thing. This restaurant is family-run and placed in one of Rome most beautiful areas, yet out of... More

I heard about this restaraunt some time ago and I made to stop by after a while. The choice was one of the best I ever made, the owner is a friendly person with a great experience in wine, therefore you can expect a good wine's choice. The location is nice, tricky for parking but just close by to Trastevere.... More

By now it's really hard to find a really good restaurant in Rome with an excellent service. Usually in Italy service is not taken seriously and, fortunately, when I go to Rivadestra I really feel the passion and the commitment that the owner Stefano put in his restaurant. The food is great, simple but with first rate ingredients and with... More
