Nice and good place with good food and friendly staff. Went there just after arrwing late in Rome and needed a small dish before bed time. Had a traditional carbonara. Very tasty!
Wife and i fell in love with this place. Delicious and very reasonably priced pizza, with tasty, cold birra. Not fancy, but terrific, authentic italian pizza. We had one with gorgonzola, salami, and mushrooms --- outstanding! Most of the patrons we observed were locals. Tried to go back tonight, but got there too late (maybe closed at 10?). Note: seems... A little gem! Very popular with locals. Definitely recommend for fantastic no frills food. So busy even on a thursday evening.
We went to this restaurant at the recommendation of one of the guards at the Etruscan Museum. The place was packed with Italian workers on their lunch break. The pizzas were typically Roman, thin and crusty. The sauces used were tasty and the toppings abundant, but not to an extreme, as often found in the USA. The waiter did not... More
Il Buchetto translates to 'small hole' in English and that's exactly what you'll find here - a little hole in the wall with delicious food at a great value. We were directed here by the staff at Hotel Villa Linneo and after a short walk (maybe 15 minutes) we came upon a single door in a plain looking building with... More
At just ten minutes walk from Piazza del Popolo and Piazzale Flaminio, pizzeria "Il Buchetto" offers a very good exemple of 'roman stile pizza' (i.e. thin and crunchy) cooked in a wide range of classical styles. In this no-frills family-owned restaurant you will find also the classic 'bruschetta', and the 'ventaglio' (fan), a puff pastry dessert covered with custard. The... More
If you find youself in the Ponte Milvio area, going down via Flaminia, tired of the high-tech, nouvelle cuisine restaurants, then it's time you went to il Buchetto. When it comes to eating down-home Italian cooking just like Mama used to make, no place can beat il Buchetto. The warm, cosy and quaint eatery is run by Fanny and her... More
Stayed at Popolo star which is right opposite this little restaurant, from the outside you would not even notice it, apart from the long line of people waiting for their lovely pizza. They do have tables and we did eat in once and it was lovely, great value for the perfect fresh cooked pizzas. All the staff were great and... More
This little pizza place is simple and perfect for a quick, inexpensive and very tasty lunch. My wife and I went there with our two daughters (8 and 6) for lunch after visiting Explora just down the Via Flaminia. The pizzas come in small and a bit larger. The small is enough for one and the larger is good to... More
When I was last in Rome, I made it a point to eat here. The pizza here is very consistent; always good. In addition, it's just a comfortable place for lunch or dinner. Even as a tourist, I never felt rushed over my meal. My favorite place in Rome to have a pizza and a beer.
