Despite liking to try out different places, I revisited this gelateria on the strength of the first visit. They've not got the biggest selection but it's certainly big enough (about 20-30) and you can see them making the gelato in an adjoining kitchen. The ingredients are all fresh and the flavours are exciting and delicious - trifle, Sicilian cake, rosemary,... More

THE best gelateria in Rome. Try raspberry and sage, chocolate and red wine or white chocolate and basil. Truly unique experience.

We spent a week travelling around Italy and tried gelato at various shops -- some recommended by guide books, and some we just stumbled upon -- in Rome, Florence and Venice. Gelateria del Teatro in Rome remains our favorite of all. You can watch them making their gelato right there in the front of the store. They use lots of... More

Really yummie icecream! Worth it to to stand in the queue, worth it to walk an extra few hundred meters! Strawberry icecream full of fresh strawberries! Almond, pistachio, hazelnut superb, but also less common tastes like lavendel & honey, raspberries and sage, etc

I have always been a big fan of San Crispino but after having the gelato here, I have found a new place. We had dinner across the street where I was able to observe them making it in the back and the obvious enjoyment of customers eating it in the front. I had no doubt, we were going to decline... More

Gelateria del Teatro is THE best gelati place in Rome. Forget Giolitti, even if you want to relive "Roman Holiday". Forget San Crispino. While these gelaterias are very good, they are second players to Gelateria al Teatro. Their range is truly artisan made, using high quality fresh produce. Proof of this is in their Via de Simone store where the... More

There are so many gelaterias in Rome and most are very good, but this is a 10 on the yum scale. Fresh fruits are being chopped as you walk in and makes for a wonderful experience. There may be a queue but definitely worth it.

If you can find it, it is quite nice. Quiet neighborhood and no more expensive than anywhere else. $3 for a NICE single scoop and multiple flavors.

You can taste every fresh ingredient, I'd walk to the other side of Rome to taste that Tiramisu again.
