My wife and I walked by this restaurant accidentally, after a day of our own version of the Heart of Rome walk. Wandering down an not so busy street at 9pm we came to a very interesting looking restaurant - at least to us. We decided to try it. No reservation, which we don't recommend, but it had rained a... Very nice meal and would recommend to all. Fillet steak and Risotto beautiful but true highlight was the Gorgonzola served with honey a true revelation! If you love cheese you must have it. Panacotta with chocolate was divine! With beers and coffee's came to 70 euros which I think is not bad for the standard and quality of food. Nice... More

I took my girlfriend here on our last night in Rome based on Trip Advisor and Rick Steves recommendations, and we were not disappointed. The service and atmosphere are great and the food was excellent. My favorite dish was the lobster linguini which had at least half a lobster in shell to go with the pasta. For two of us... More

We had no reservation on a Monday night and waited perhaps 20minutes for a table which was perfectly reasonable considering we arrived around 9:30pm when most places don't open for dinner until 8:30pm. The portion sizes for entree were like a main and extremely generous. The service was great, food extremely fresh and delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful. To... More

We spent three nights in Rome, and I must say -- this place blew us away. It is hidden away on a side street near the Spanish Steps, you walk down the stairs into this basement, and the cutest, classic yet contemporary, little restaurant appears before your eyes. My wife and I didn't have a reservation on a Saturday night,... More

We stayed 5 nights in Rome, and this was by far the nicest dining experience of our visit. I wanted a special place to take my wife for dinner on her birthday. Thanks to the Tripadvisor reviews I was not disappointed - and more importantly, neither was she. This is a quiet, cozy, and sophisticated restaurant in a quaint neighborhood... More

After finding this restaurant on trip advisor we decided to go on our first night as it was right around the corner from where we were staying. We tried to book but the number was incorrect so we just went along and hoped for the best. We waited for nearly 45 minutes but it was totally worth it. The food... More

After reading reviews on Trip Advisor we decided we definitely wanted to pay a visit to Il Gabriello and we’re glad we did! You do need a reservation – we popped in earlier in the day to reserve a table. Everything was so delicious and fresh – the tomato sauce on my Ravioli was amazing! Lovely atmosphere and lovely staff... More

The restaurant is a walkdown so if you want to see and be seen go elsewhere. We arrived without a reservation but they squeezed us in after only a 10-15 minute wait. The staff was excellent and spoke English well. We had a liter of house white that was good and inexpensive. But the food was the reason to go.... More
