After reading the reviews I had an idea of what to expect, but this exceeded our expectations. On the evening we dined here there were only three other people. It was an intimate experience and so much fun. The food was simple, but all fresh and local. From the olive oil tasting through the nougat for dessert we enjoyed every... More

Visited here a couple of days ago. We had asked our hotel to book this for us as others have mentioned you need to book well in advance. When we turned up just before 7, Francisco, the owner of the deli/restaurant, told us that the evening was rather unusual, in that a table of 4 had cancelled at short notice,... More

Seduced by fantastic Tripadvisor reviews, we went straight to La Oliva the morning of our first day in Granada to see if it was possible to reserve a table sometime during our weekend stay. A very friendly Francisco met us in his shop (it's not a restaurant, but a small food store), and was sorry to inform us that the... More

Here you can tast all the best things in Granada and around. High quality food with very good service. Not a classic dinner place but rather a place where you can taste a little bit of everything.

First a note of caution which many others have already said as well, this is not a normal restaurant where you choose your food. You need to be there with the small number of other guests at 7 and you are treated to a wonderful experience in a relaxed, informal setting with a perfect host at a very reasonable price.... More

What an unforgettable experience—We can only echo what others have said about the whole thing—and thank recent reviewers for their explanation of what this reserve-in-advance tasting evening is all about for those who were obviously confused. (To sum up: you must reserve in advance and come at 7!) Francisco is so charming and interesting, the array of local dishes and... More

There have been some poor reviews of La Oliva, which reflect a failure to understand what it's about. It's not a restaurant where you walk in and choose stuff off a menu. Neither do you go at the standard Spanish time of about 9pm. This is a shop with seating for 12 where the owner, Francisco, leads you on a... More

Even Francisco who runs La Oliva admits that being rated so highly by TripAdvisor is a mixed blessing - people arrive not necessarily what to expect. You will be sitting down to eat in a delicatessen shop with around 12 other people.. He brings out a wide range of traditional local produce for you to try - from olive oil... More

This was our best food experience in Spain. Oliva is not a restaurant, it is a small food store, and Francisco is not a chef, but he knows everything about food, and his enthusiastic cooking creates a magic. At 19:00 he closes the door, guests are sitted at the simple wooden tables, and the feast starts with olive oil tasting.... More

A unique and delicious experience. Francisco cooks and entertains with perfect descriptions of the many courses he serves. A meal to be savored, not rushed. Make a reservation for this charming place and enjoy.
