This was, without doubt, the best meal we had during our two plus weeks in Germany. We elected to have lunch, a set menu, to avoid a late night prior to an early departure for Dresden. We were glad because this is a meal that needs to be eaten slowly, savored—and digested. The restaurant, which has two well-earned stars from... More

This is an elegant and intimate restaurant with only about 7 tables, so we were a little apprehensive about bringing in our 3 little boys. However, this turned out to be a wonderful and memorable experience. The meals were beautifully presented and very imaginative, with unusual ingredients. The venison was perfect, but my favorite dish was the bean dish. It... More

This was one of the best restaunrants I've seen during our Germany-trip - it was the reason for me to get an account at tripadvisor. Not the cheepest restaurant in town, but definitely one of the best ones. Marvellous! I'll come back whenever I have the chance to visit Nuremberg again!

to celebrate a birhtday we went for a meal at the Essigbrätlein. It is almost a family tradition to go there for special celebrations - and again we found that the quality had yet improved (which was hard to imgagine, since the performance has always been outstanding). Every course left us with a feeling of pure bliss. A huge "thank... More

Sorry Andre, it was not more then a one star Restaurant aiming for more...700 Euros for a 100 Euro Meal..and you did not show your face...even the Pauly Saal has more ambition in Berlin..that is just to let you know I am not a country side pumpkin without any sense ...and the toilets..70's hell..it would be funny if it was... I make it a required stop to this food Mecca in the little town of Nuremberg everytime I visit. The restaurant occupies an old wine merchants' meeting house dating back to 1550. On your first visit, you'll swear you must be in the wrong place because there are no overbearing signs or cafe tables outside. Just pull the chain for... More

Wow. Food nirvana. Most expensive meal of my life and for me, and for my friend, worth every penny. It can be done less expensivelly if you order just a couple of courses, the full menu is not required, but is wonderful. I had the full menu and wine pairings and still swoon when I think of it. To say... More

We found this wonderful place thanks to TripAdvisor, and what a find! The menu is set for the evening, with nothing to choose but whether you want 4 or 6 courses. The food was creative and lovingly presented with amazing flavor combinations; the staff was superb; and the atmosphere was charming. This was one of the best places I've ever... More

The food was really excellent. Staff spoke great English so booking lunch was no problem at all. Very small and cosy dining room, chef came out and explained the dishes to us which was a nice touch. Would definitely return.

it's seems incredible that in high cuisine restaurant in Germany the first opinion You have is elegance, equilibrium, freshness...a particular citation for the pike-perch with radishes, the venison with apricot and chanterelles (one of the best i have ever eaten) and the incredible desert peach with green tomatoes. Good impression for the starting and for the interesting chocolates after the... More
