Angelina's is in my opinion worth a visit for two things: the famous chocolate and their mini cakes.
The restaurant on Rue de Rivoli has charm and elegance; one can imagine what the place would have been like turn of the 20th century when it opened. The service was terrific. I went on a Monday and didn't have to wait...

Two friends told us Angelina's was a must for our moms-with-teenage-daughters long weekend visit. We are happy we went, but it did not quite live up to the hype nor to the internet photos. The room is an authentic period piece, but could use some spiffing up. Other tea houses would amount to an equal or perhaps superior overall experience....

We ordered a brunch and breakfast set. There is quite a lot of variety of drinks, eggs, entree, bread and hot chocolate for the set menu. However, NONE of it tastes good. Hot chocolate was too sweet, macaron too hard and sweet as well. My salmon was too salty and stale and the omelette was terribly plain. We decided to give Angelina...

Mariage Frères in Rive Gauche is nothing short of elegant with white linens and gracious servers.
Laduree tea room in Printemps...the list is long.
I was insulted by the assumption that because you have a name...you can charge prices like this!

Yes, this place is somewhat touristy. (That will happen when a restaurant is repeatedly included on "Best Hot Chocolate" type lists.) But that is not necessarily a bad thing! Expect lines and a wait to get into the dining room, and somewhat steep prices. Even so, this place is worth a visit!
Angelina is well known for its hot chocolate,...

We've been to Angelina's last week in the early afternoon. The all time waiting queue takes about 15 minutes and when you get inside you'll feel the charm of early last century Paris. The location is a little bit outworn but this is an essential ingredient of France anyway.
The pastries (éclair Mont Blanc - 7,9 € + Religieuse Fraise...

This was one of those places that people tell you about when you go to Paris. It's really close to the Louvre so we hopped off the metro a stop or two early and made out way to Angelina's.
I am a huge fan of chocolate so this was right up my ally, and I had heard that if you...

For visitors to Château Versailles, you will notice that there are not a lot of places to eat at the château itself. There is a cafeteria on the ground floor, and about half way through the château, when you are hungry from the trip, the bustle, the walking and climbing of stairs there appears a sit down restaurant, Angelina. This...

Delicious warm, crumbly croissants, crustly breads, home made jams, and freshly squeezed juices. Omlettes, boiled eggs and soldiers, fried and scrambled eggs. Tea, coffee and the famous hot chocolate. Thick, sweet, pouring chocolate, served with whipped cream. Decadent for breakfast, but when in Paris... enjoy.
