I have been eating regularly at Chez Margot for many years, and the food is outstanding. I don't reccomend le Cote de Beouf for 2 people, but otherwise, the seafood is always excellent, the cheeseburger with exquisitely sinful homemade french fries, the escargot, frogs legs -- nothing disappoints. The staff is friendly and mostly efficient, but like many French restaurants... More

Located in the Marais district of Paris, this restaurant was just around the corner from our hotel and was recommended on this forum and by many on the ground. It didn't disappoint. The waiters were friendly whilst not intrusive and were very helpful with our lack of French. I had a glass or Rose and Dad had a red, both... More

My dad and I have visited Paris twice now and when we return for a third time this summer we will certainly be visiting Chez Margot! This is a lovely bistro, with typical French cuisine. The escargot is delicious, as is the pain perdue, We also enjoyed just sharing cheese and charcuterie with a couple glasses of wine. Staff was... More

Really nice dinner, I went there with some French friends and we really enjoyed the place (soft lights, few tables, nice music), the owners (young guys form Auvergne, really friendly and funny) and the food, absolutely great. I had the Filet Mignon with honey and ginger sauce and I simply loved it. We will come back for sure, few steps... More

We dined here several times because it was near where we were living on our extended stay in Paris. The ambiance is of a typical busy good quality bistro. Many of the guests appeared to be locals. The service was invariably friendly snd professional. The wine list was okay but could have benefitted from greater variety. The strength in the... More

It was cold and we walked for hours after dinner, we stumbled in for a quick coffee. Instead we sat had some wine and cheese and it was great. More

This restaurant has a friendly ambiance. Several of the patrons appeared to be repeaters, however, we found the food and service to be average. We ordered two blanquet de veau (the evening special) which came with a small dish of rice. The meat o.k. but the rice was tasteless. This was a small potion and we were still hungry after... More

We live down the road and discovered this wonderful bistrot about a year ago. Service is always impeccable and the food is fantastic. Any excuse is good enough to try their steak tartare, homemade burgers and beautiful Sunday brunches. You might pay a bit more than some of the bistrots round the corner, but Chez Maggot proves the old adage:... More

We were taken here by some Parisian friends whilst we were staying in Paris for a few days. We didn't arrive until 10 pm but we were still made to feel welcome and despite us being British with two teenage kids, we were treated with great warmth. The food was superb, as was the wine but what made the evening... More

After a string of tourist bistros with attitude and overpriced mediocre food, this place was a refreshing change--not for the attitude, but for the food! It was so good I went back, and the second time was even better. (the service comes with all the requisite Parisian disdain, but it won't matter once the food arrives--besides, by the second time...
