This is easily the restaurant with the least inviting exterior in Beaune but don't let this fact put you off. Once you're in, the atmosphere is very nice indeed and the cooking is simply great. The wine card is very enticing. Although no wines by the glass are mentioned, the sommelier is very willing to propose them at your table.... More

My wife and I are from California and we dinned at Le Cheval Noir after a recommendation from our B&B, Le Jardins de Lois, which is just up the street. The restaurant interior was very polished, a modern design with well laid out tables, fine linens, cutlery and stunning stemware. Wait staff were highly professional, friendly and spoke excellent English... More

Good choice on A la Carte menu but the Set Menus seemed more interesting on the day. Wine list was also comprehensive. Quality of food was excellent, which coupled with the attentive and efficient service, made for a most enjoyable evening. More

Tried this resto for the first time in November when we met up with some friends for dinner. Had lunch at Lameloise that same day, so I wasn't expecting much. I was happily wrong! The wine list had many good choices at reasonable prices and the food was fresh and creative. I really enjoyed my first course of tuna tartare... More

We enjoyed this meal, and the accompanying wine, very much. Service was formal but with a smile(a good thing), food imaginatively produced and to a high standard, albeit small portions even by French standards (excellent cheese trolley though!) Beautifully fitted boutique restaurant, light and airy. Best toilets of the week bar none. Nothing bad to say really but I came... More

Very good quality dinner with profession service. The fish was perfectly cooked, duck was tasty and the escargots were nice and garlicky. Best dinner we had in Beaune. More
