Description: Ard Bia at Nimmos restaurant in Galway City enjoys one of Galways most romantic locations in a gorgeous upstairs room with lovely views of the river, hard by the Spanish Arch. This restaurant is famous in Galway and beyond for the stupendous quality of its cuisine and its professional and welcoming service, all in a charming setting. The dcor is rustic boho chic with quirky details. You might find fresh local garden blooms on your table in a tin coffee pot, for instance. The seasonally-changing Irish/Moroccan/North African eclectic menu blows you away with dishes like the Gubeen antipasto dish, all made with the finest and freshest of local ingredients. Ard Bias commitment to live and modern art make it a happening place, though if you just want to come for the great food and service and see why the restaurant won Regional Restaurant of the Year from Food & Wine Magazine, no one will mind.

When reading the menus, we were a little sceptical of the mix of ingredients by dish, but how wrong we were - one of the best meals we had on our trip around Ireland! More

We had a booking for sunday lunch for 3pm, I did think this was a bit late, but since they run lunch until 3.30 thought it would be fine. We had a ten minute wait for a table although had a booking. All the specials were gone, was not much on the menu could chose. Had a living social voucher... More

I used to eat regularly in Nimmos from about 2000 when I moved to Galway. I thought it was a lovely restaurant and in a great location beside the Spanish Arch and close to the shopping area in the city centre. But I have recently stopped going there after two bad experiences and now prefer to go elsewhere for lunch.... More

The location is very nice, just in front of the Spanish Arch, in a small brick building. Inside the place is cute, a little edgy, hipster, with old fashion furniture, red candles and fresh flowers in tin jugs. The menu is simple yet refined, with organic ingredients and 4/5 different choices of starters and main courses. We tried the Aran... More

Very tasty food, nicely presented, pricing a little bit above average but the food does have a great quality. This restaurant has that bohemian style, nice but staff can come across as a bit ‘too cool’ that some may regard as unfriendly. Well worth a visit no matter what. More

I strongly recommend that you make a reservation if you want to have dinner at this Restaurant. That's what our B&B recommended us to do. In Fact they did it for us. The food is delicious and they have a very good selection of wine. We had a appetizer of an assortment of Humus and it was great start. The... More

9 April 2012 - terrible experience. Arrived at restaurant at 7.30pm and immediately placed our order, however the main course did not arrive until almost two hours later at 9.20pm. The reason for this was the unfriendly waitress does not write down your order and then forgets to inform the kitchen. No apology or explanation given. Felt they couldn't care... More
