Visited Gallaghers Boxty house on Bank holiday satureday, great food and atmosphere. staff very helpful
I have been to Dublin many times, and all except the first, I have been to Gallagher's. Given this, a booking is highly recommended as it gets very busy.
This time our group size was five. There were people waiting in the reception area (quite usual, and worth it), as we had booked and were on time, we were shown...

We were really glad we had reserved a table, as the restaurant was already completely full when we arrived at 6:30pm. The service here was very friendly, but just a bit on the slow side. The food was excellent and portions were ridiculously large. The wine was very reasonably priced, and the house recommendation was excellent.
We enjoyed the food (Cashel blue cheese salad, Irish lamb stew and fish & chips) and I was appreciative that the waiter provided tastes of 2 different beers when I had difficulty deciding which to offer. Other than thinking that the salad was a bit skimpy for the price, this was an all-round excellent experience.
Just off the plane after a cross-Atlantic flight and a local behind the desk recommended here for lunch. An excellent choice. Without really knowing what is typical Irish, this place seemed quite original both what comes to menu and atmosphere. Service was really great, greetings to Mike:). I would definitely recommend this place if you want to taste something different. And you won't leave this place hungry! BTW, cheese cake was great and we were able to share it between three...

My friends and I had a good experience here. Very friendly staff. Starters were good as was my Boxty burger with standard chips (aka American home cut fries). Nice atmosphere. Nothing out of this world but better than a touristy meal. Pricey as usual in Ireland.
Dinner here was fantastic. I had the chicken and bacon boxty and the other half had the lamb burger. He rolled his eyes, then closed them in ecstasy after the first bite of his burger. And the accompanying chips were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, even though they were thick chips. The chicken in the...

This restaurant is one of my favourite hang outs when I have clients in town and they want to have a 'taste of Ireland'. It's in the heart of temple bar but it's not touristy and the food is lovely! My favourite is the boxty with beef: it's tasty and juicy and really fills you up! The staff is friendly...

It's my second visit to Dublin and last time I came I was recommended to go to Gallaghers Boxty House. This time I needed no prompting, it was already at the top of my 'to do' list.
From the moment you step through the door you are made to feel like a long lost family member by the staff, they're...
