Great restaurant with the best seafood we had in Dublin. Nice decor and atmosphere, and friendly service. More

went twice, once evening once lunch. food and service were good on both occasions. have ordered seafood chowder 6.95 euro, monkfish on mushroom rosotto 26.95 euro and seafood platter 30 euro. seafood chowder only had white fish, no other seafood, taste was average. monkfish was pan fried, tender and succulent, mushroom rosotto had very good texture, not soaky or mushy,... My husband and I ate here last night, which was the first night of our vacation. I selected it based on the reviews and the fact that my husband loves seafood. It was not a disappointment! He ordered the hake, which he said was delicious. I'm a vegetarian, so I didn't have high expectations since it is a seafood place;... More

Everything is perfect. Food is outstanding and nothing compares to it at the shore. More

Based on some reviews on tripadvisor I decided to have a solo lunch at Matt The Thresher on my visit to Dublin. I have a lot of food intolerances and allergies and it is very difficult to find somewhere to eat. I always settle for seafood as that is the safest but finding somewhere where they would have a really... More

This place was pretty disappointing. We had reservations for a Saturday night and arrived right on time to no hostess or anyone at the door. You have to kind of wander through tables up to the bar to be seated. We were seated at a DIRTY table that had not yet been cleared and then proceeded to wait ages for... More

We had a dinner at Matt the Thresher and loved it. Staff was very welcoming (although a little lost at the moments :) ) and food was great. They have nice selections of wine to go with the seafood (Gruner Veltliner was delicious). And the pricing is very reasonable, I would expect it to be much higher and still would... More

We visited in the early-ish evening of Easter Saturday having visited on a number of previous occasions. It was busy but not overcrowded with a good atmosphere. We have always found the staff to be friendly and knowledgable and this occasion proved to be no exception. We chose starters of seafood chowder (one of the best I have sampled) and... More

We went there for a family dinner with kids, babies and my mum. The place is lovely and very spacious (was previously a pub and was nicely done up without killing its charactere). We had a big round table which was lovely. The starter of crab claws was succulent. Lovely discreet seasoning which really brought up the taste of the... More
