I booked this for our trip to Dublin that I had got for my husband as a wedding present after seeing the reviews on Trip Advisor. I was glad I had read it was in the basement as we properly would have walked straight past it! Found the street easily enough though and we were really pleased when we went... More

I am very fortunate to have a foodie friend in Dublin where I go on a regular basis for work. She has guided me through the myriad of restaurants in the city centre and one night she introduced me to one of her favourites, The Black Board Bistro. If I was on my own I might have missed this culinary... More

I went here for a romantic evening, for my girlfriend's birthday. It went there after having been recommended by a friend. I was sceptical at first as it was in a basement, but in the end it only added to the whole setup. The lighting was perfect and the big blackboard adds a great artistic touch. The music wasn't too... I wanted a really special place for dinner on Easter Saturday night, so I checked TripAdvisor and based on the reviews I choose The Blackboard Bistro. All I can say is that it was nice, but nothing special...Basement setting, decor fine, but ordinary. The food was nice, but sadly, nothing special either. I would have been very happy with this... We ended up at this place after walking by it as it was close to our hotel. There was 9 of us so we didn't expect to get a table when we walked in, but they gave us a nice room in the back. The staff was very friendly, the food was very good and the price was perfect. Although... More

After reading reviews on this site, a friend and I decided we had to give this place a try. It's tiny but not cramped. has almost the feeling of private dining. The menu was exciting, however, with only 4 choices of starter or mains, the food was good but I expected much better. The staff are extremely friendly and are... More

Beautiful presentation of lovely French cuisine. The red walls and wooden tables are a bit of a cozy contrast to the sophisticated menu. Only 4 selections for mains, with no vegetarian option, but each beautifully presented. All 3 courses were spot on. The wine menu was not extensive, but the selections were nice with a few by the glass options. More

Had lunch in this intimate restaurant which offers a small but tempting menu at a medium price. All our dishes were well-presented and more than satisfied the taste-buds. Service excellent. Not a large range of wines available by the glass. Advise booking. More

Very good value for money. One starter of fis and one of risotto were full of flavour. Fish portion of two pieces of trout was small; dainty might be more accurate, but in a rich saffron sauce. The risotto was flavoured with thyme, crime frail he and Parmesan. The combination worked surprisingly well. Both main courses were slow cooked pork... More

Thank you for your review with Tripadvisor. We value all our customers opinions. Our menu is small for a very good reason. We are a small restaurant with limited space and for this reason it would not be possible to offer an extensive menu. We offer a small menu of 5 starters/mains and desserts. We change our menu every 10... More
