It's a pretty regular Italian restaurant. My lamb was very tender, and staff were friendly. There are plenty better restaurants in Cork for the price.

We stopped a local woman in the street to ask her if she knew of a nice restaurant, and it was Il Padrino ('The Godfather') that she came up with immediately. Good choice. That evening we fancied something fishy, but weren't particularly hungry. Our waiter was perfectly happy for us to share a tagliatelle marinara, which was full of seafood... More

Excellent food and service. Good portions too for an Italian, based on UK equivalents. Head of House was rather over the top with his constant studying of the customers however. Customer toilets were however a disgrace. Very dirty, in fact filthy and unsuitable for premises and the back kitchen raised some concerns. The cloth used to dry plates left a... More

This is a great choice for Italian in Cork. Good food, good service, good location, good atmosphere. Can't really ask for more.

Having been disappointed overall with the options for eating in the Crok city centre we were grateful to come acorss Il Padrino on a thursday night. Lots of choice, big helpings and a fair price. We would not normally go back to the same place preferring to try something new but out of desperation we would have eaten there Friday... More

Had a group lunch there last Friday. Food was beautiful. Panini al Pollo was the nicest I've ever had. A lot of the group had pizzas and said they tasted lovely but were a bit small. Service was excellent and we were able to pay individually - take note Cornstore!! Definitely would go back again.

Been here a few times both for evening meals and lunch and I must say its not that good and I'm wondering why I keep going. The evening meals are over priced and small portions. For there lunch I usually get there lasagne but iv found that there lasagne isn't half as nice as a lasagne that you can get... More

**ALERT FOR VEGETARIANS**. My experience of this restaurant was terrible. On reading the menu I noted on the list of vegetarian option they mentioned double cream and parmesan cheese. The waiter who served us asked the chefs to check if my assumptions were correct before I informed the manager and yes it was true, the products they were using for... More
