Typical high quality Costley place- spotless, friendly well trained staff and well prepared, tasty food. A great deli, ice-cream parlour and hand made chocs make this a real foodies destination.

Stopped into Souter Johnnie's for lunch to treat some overseas visitors. The setting is lovely - the thatched roof is eyecatching and in the sunshine the brilliant white of the exterior attractive. It looks like a mini 'House of Bruar' and there is a retail section but it is minimal.
We ate in the restaurant and I was quite surprised...

Ordered eventually after having to request that our order be taken and food came fairly promptly but just like the restaurant the food was far too cold to eat, 2 out of...

Servce was friendly and food delicious but it tends to be busy and it makes no allowance for people with diatry requirements. They sell a lot of coffee but fail to provide soya milk.

Chicken cajun salad was fantastic as were the desserts. Please give this place a try you will not be dissappointed.
My family and i have been regular diners at Souter Johnnies for over a year and have loved everything about the cosy, enchanting, traditional building and its food.
However.....we arrived on Tuesday to be greeted with the news that it is no longer Souter Johnnies during lunch time but Peggy's Tearoom?! The new shiny wooden floor and white walls is...
