Description: The delightful Roost Restaurant, found fifteen minutes outside of Perth in Kintillo, is a wonderful venue for lunch all year round, and cosy tables for two in the evenings. This homely dining room is decorated in a folksy style, with themed teapots and paintings for sale, and hearty menu is made all from fresh Scottish ingredients by Chef and owner Tim Dover. The food here at Roost has a modern Scottish and British bent with a nod towards France, and the countryside location gives the restaurant a snugly home-away-from-home atmosphere. Highlights from the stellar menu include the potted Scottish rabbit with red onion marmalade; and the Scotch beef served two ways with horseradish mash.

Just had Sunday Lunch at The Roost. The whole experience was great from start to finish. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere in the restaurant is calming. Food is excellent although my girlfriends vegetarian main course was slightly over salted. All in all a lovely lunch and we'll definitely be going back :)

We had a lovely lunch here today. This is a small restaurant and is not that easy to find, but when we arrived the welcome was genuine and friendly. The service was very good and timely ( though it was not very busy). The menu was perfectly wide enough with about six or seven choices per course, or there was... More

Booked for a lunch after reading reviews. Lovely service, Excellent choice in all courses. Our guests asked if they could have custard with their Frangipane Tart instead of ice cream and chef obliged, this was above and beyond our expectations. Have already passed on the word of this wee gem of a restaurant and will continue to do so. Thank... More

Had dinner here last night, our first visit. What a great experience, the welcome and service was just perfect, the restaurant was calm, warm and nicely presented. The menu was slightly limited in choice, but this was no negative as making the choice from what was available was difficult enough. Having decided to order different starters and mains so we... We dropped in after reading reviews on Tripadvisor, and were not disappointed. It's a small restaurant, with only six parking spaces outside, and at most seating for around twenty. However, don't let this put you off. The food is good, the staff attentive and polite, if a little slow at times - but I can put up with it on... More

Although this restaurant is off the beaten track it is well worth the detour to sample and savour the food on offer. We went for lunch on Easter Sunday and enjoyed every mouthful of the meal. I am not a lover of cheesecake but decided to try Tim's one as it had stem ginger in it and I love stem... More

We have just had one of our bi-annual trips to The Roost and as ever it was fabulous. On my recent Birthday we ate at Marcus Wareing the top Knightsbridge restaurant, where we have eaten before and I defy anyone to tell the difference between the quality of the food and service with The Roost. Tim and Anna deserve all... More

Stumbled on The Roost while escaping snow induced cabin fever. Enjoyed our lunch - especially the parsnip and Parmesan tart. Delightfully presented and delicious to eat. Would recommend this little find. It's worth the drive.

We used to have tea at the Roost when our daughters were at the nearby school. It was by chance I found out that it had changed hands and become a restaurant of such quality so when my daughter came home from university for her birthday I booked a table at the Roost for a special family lunch. It was... More
