Recommended by a friend, worth the walk to find it and quickly had a table even though unbooked. Very busy and noisy, very limited wine selection but can bring your own. Absolutely delicious food, very obliging staff, lamb was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Don't expect to be able to pay with plastic - they only take cash or cheque.

It was our first experience of the food at Fanny Trollope's and it certainly wont be our last. Down from Aberdeen with friends for a couple of days it was a great start to our weekend. Absolutely no complaints at all about the food all cooked to perfection and beautifully presented, waiters attentive without being intrusive all in all a... More

We booked a table at Fanny Trollope's for their pre theatre dinner offer after reading good reviews on TA. Getting through on the phone was a little problematic. We left messages on the answer machine but no one returned our calls but we managed to secure a table eventually. The restaurant is not situated in the most scenic area of... More

Terrific food at unbelievable prices. The service was brilliant too - we were not the easiest of tables to manage and the waiter did a fabulous job.

We were staying at the Glasgow Marriott up from Southampton for the weekend, and had seen the reviews so decided to give Fannys a go, Firstly the restaurant is not where trip advisor or google says it is, this seems to be a common problem when we spoke to the waiters, its the other side of the Motorway away from... Ate here recently and really enjoyed it. The food is not overly cheap but was worth every penny and overall cost was reasonable because of BYOB wine policy. Four of us ate here recently and it was a lovely night. everything on the menu was beautifully cooked and only complaint was there was no room for pudding as portions are... More

We loved this place. Wonderful starter of blackpudding with poached egg. main was braised beef done to perfection. Lovely wine selection and great service. Only problem was rather noisy, but it's very popular, and cram packed, but definitely worth it .
