Phoned up during the week to make booking, come the weekend it had been lost. Not to worry, we managed to get a table. Service was excellent, swift with a smile. Food was very well presented and tasty - nothing amazing, average curries. Nice ambience, good decor. Prices were reasonable. I would visit again if in town.

I've eaten many curries around the country and this came highly recommended - I've eaten curries in Bradford, Curry Mile in Manchester and also Baltis in the West Midlands. What was present to us was a limited menu - trying to be 'posh' curry - no traditional dishes at all - chose the Crab & Prawn Roti - very pleasant... More

Went to Mother India for the second time in a fortnight. Definitely my current curry house of choice in Glasgow. Sat downstairs first time and had a great seat, so was a bit anxious this time to be told we'd have to go upstairs. We needn't have worried. The service and ambience was just as good as downstairs, and the... More

I came here with my partner and 2 year old daughter last week after reading fab things about it and seeing its 5 star rating on here. Was really looking forward to it as we have been next door to its cafe and to its main restaurant on Westminster Terrace a good few times before. Its in quite an intimate... More

A totally different dining experience to normal Indian restaurants. We were in the cellar which was packed out with groups of friends enjoying their night out. The starter was delicious, chilli, ginger fish pakora and a huge portion. Butter chicken followed and I have a big appetite but couldn't manage even 2/3 of my dish. The same for both my... More

Tried Mother India Dining In after always passing by it on my usual way mother Indias cafe. Decided to give it long overdue shot. Was greeted by a very friendly, polite helpful man introducing himself as Mac. Our server was Anita who i recognised from previously working at the next door cafe. Very helpful with explaining the menu, what immediately... More

Cozy, noisy, a bit too bright....you'll love it. If you like Indian, you will like this option next door to Mother India. Dinner options like butter chicken, etc were surprisingly good. You can also order take out at very reasonable prices. Will be back!

On a chilly January girl's weekend away we were lucky to find Mother India near our hotel on a Frida night. It was such a relief to find a restaurant with a menu with something different to the usual hackneyed indian restaurant standards. Reassuringly shorter it promised a more authentic take on indian food. Downstairs was small, cosy and I... More

Had planned to go to our favourite Indian Akbars (we like to try all of them if possible when travelling around) but spotted this place whilst having a drink in the pub next door. The menu wasn't extensive but we thought we'd give it a go. It was a busy Saturday night and we hadn't booked but managed to get... More
