Description: Hidden away in plain sight on Glasgows Renfield Street, Charcoals is easily missed by passers by but a restaurant well worth seeking out. Held in high regard by locals thanks to its great Indian food, Charcoals offers what could be some of the best curries in town. Under new management since 2011 but still providing that award winning formula that made it such a success in the first place, Charcoals maintains a clean, unpretentious interior with a cosy, comfortable and warm feel and relaxed, unhurried atmosphere helped along by friendly, efficient service. A comprehensive collection of Indian curry house favourites, Charcoals provides lovers of Asian food with almost too much choice the specialties ranging from baltis and kormas to those sundries that make an Indian meal in to a feast. Extremely affordable with set lunches and pre-theatre menus adding extra value for those in a hurry, this local favourite looks set to remain so for years to come.

We love this place .Second time at Charcoals did not dissapoint. Food yet again was superb, staff friendly and enthusiastic .Love the wee extra touches of the chutney and jelly. What gets me most about this place is the atmosphere. Some restaurants can feel a bit stuffy at times but this is relaxed dining at it's best with a great... More

How do they keep on doing it Great food, great atmosphere, and customer service that should be rolled out to the world. If they could bottle it and sell it to company's they would make a... More

A group of friends and I went for lunch at Charcoal's on the recommendation of one of the group, who had been before. This is by far the best Indian food I have tasted!! The service was outstanding and Ali was very knowlegeable, providing in-depth detail of the contents of each dish (if requested). Ali also provided complimentary side dishes,... More

We visited Charcoals last night during a weekend break in Glasgow and I must say we were not disappointed. Although the restaurant is maybe a bit tired looking and did resemble a small cafe the food was gorgeous. So fresh and tasty and the portions were vast.Too much really!!!! The staff were so attentive and Ali made sure we were... More

Visited for the 2nd time on Sat. The pre theatre menu is perfectly priced and the choice is superb. Chicken pakora is best i've ever had. The restaurant is busy so booking is advisable. This can be done easily on their website. Great service and the restaurant is very clean and tidy. Can't wait to go back to try some... More
