Escape George and Prince streets and hobnob with the locals at this little cafe, mentioned in Alexander McCall Smith's mystery novels. We had "tea" here - the desserts/sweets are superb. Also delicious was the hummus and oat cakes.

I haven't been in Edinburgh for lunch for a long time and was very disappointed with where I ended up. It was overrun with staff and yet they still couldn't offer close to a good service.

I went in to this cafe today with some clients and was given the worst service by the manager i was never so imbarresed in all my life and infront of clients and other customers I left in tears never again will i use this place nor will any of my staff or clients

We visited last week hoping things had improved from previous encounters but no- staff as snooty as ever
