Visited here a few weeks ago with my girlfriend and we had a great meal. I had the pork belly with mixed asian vegetables which was amazing. The pork was very crispy on top which is just the way I like it. My girlfriend had the sizzling duck which when served to her, was actually viciously sizzling on a hot... More

The title of my review above says it all this restaurant is the authentic purveyors of deliciously prepared Thai food. I was in a party of 4 people who were not particularly fond of Thai cuisine....all were converted by the imagination and excellence of entrees, main courses and deserts Service was very very good and the atmosphere was warm and... We visited on a Sunday night when the restaurant was half full. We had called a couple of hours earlier to book, after having selected it from trip advisor, and when I asked if I could reserve a window seat, was told in an unapologising way that they're very busy and can't guarantee it. Anyhow, when we arrived, they managed... More

This place is definitely off the beaten track & extremely small but warm & welcoming. I visited on a Wednesday night & the place was full. Staff were great, service was excellent. The food was good, presented well, large portions. Next time I would share a main course or skip starters. We had the prawn cakes, mixed seafood tempura &... More

After reading the reviews I expected more from this place. I found the service to be very cold and not very welcoming it was a good 20 minutes before our order was taken. We were sat at the table in the middle which is alot more comfortable than it looks. Thai food is by far my favourite food so I... More

Had the early evening menu for £13.95 -both starter of dumpling soup & main (spicy prawn dish) were lovely. Service excellent throughout. Coffee included in deal even got to change this to a jasmine tea as not a coffee fan. Resteraunt small inside but makes for a nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back soon. Better than more expensive Thai resteraunts... More

We are spoiled for wonderful restaurants in Edinburgh but there are only 2 that I absolutely yen for - Port of Siam is one of them. As a Newhaven local, I've been fortunate to visit this delightful wee place on several occasions. It never fails to delight. Tonight, we managed to clip an early table at 6pm ahead of its... More

Our first visit to this small Thai restaurant on the waterfront. The starters where all very good and the Thai Baa Baa (lamb cutlets) portion was huge. Main courses were interesting. The sizzling duck, Pas Ped and sea bream were all very good. The seafood dumplings were ok the texture was a little rubbery and the green curry sauce pretty... More

Loved the succulent fresh scallops on black pudding starter, mango salsa and sea bass main and the new delicate lavender ice cream dessert! Sounds odd, but quite lovely. And the waterfront is a nice view. Can't wait to return!

Port of Siam is small but perfectly formed - it's where Thailand meets Newhaven. After repeated visits it has become our local favourite for a weeknight meal because of its waterfront location, consistently delicious, exotic Thai tastes and speedy, polite service. If you get a window seat you'll be treated to lovely views of Newhaven harbour, lighthouse and over the... More
