The food was ok, haggis was good, but not as good as what I thought it would be based upon other reviews. Service wasn't the best either, had to keep asking for things. Good in a pinch, and not too $$$, but I think there are better places.

Very well situated on Market Street handy for train station and Central Edinburgh. Reasonably priced lunch menu. Portions are big! and will satisfy the hungriest of folks. Try the haggis neeps and tatties with whisky jus but my personal favourite is the delicious Cullen Skink - one of the best I've tasted. Try to get a window seat with nice...

We were entertaining American relations earlier this week and they asked us to choose somewhere to eat!
It must have been at least 15 years since we last visited the Doric, but we were not disappointed.
The food, service and welcome was just as we remembered it, and we could not have chosen a better place in Edinburgh for the...

I always enjoy a few pints here before i get the train home. A good traditional scottish pub with a relaxed atmosphere.
Stumbled across this restaurant when looking for somewhere to eat on our first night in Edinburgh. We were very pleased with our find. Small menu but nice choices. For our first taste of haggis we went for the Haggis Spring Rolls, can totally recommend, they were delicious and different. Our waitress was very nice, fraid we didn't catch her name...

Edinburgh has a wide variety of restaurants, yet we still find ourselves returning to The Doric time and time again. The quality of the food is second to none, and you can tell that some real thought goes into keeping the menu varied and fresh. Personal favourites include the game pie and the fillet steak, and if you are lucky...

The Doric is not somewhere I'd think to go as a resident of Edinburgh, but with several recommendations I've given it a go a few times. This pub/restaurant is what the locals love and is Edinburgh at it's best - quality, locally sourced food served in a cosy, historic location with enough atmosphere to feel the warmth but also the...

Just come back from a long weekend in Edinburgh and the best meal of the weekend was from the Doric! The staff were friendly and the food was beautiful particularly the sticky toffee pudding for dessert! Amazing food and I would recommend to anyone going! Well worth a visit!!
We've been coming to this restaurant for years, and have never had a meal that is less than excellent. My kids aged 8 & 3 love the fish and I would have to say the fillet steak is the best in Edinburgh. Lovely traditional old building with friendly staff and very good value for money. Would highly recommend a visit.
As an Aberdonian visiting Edinburgh for a few days, the temptation to explore a bar named after my native tongue, directly outside the train station in the old town, was too much to resist. Firstly my wife and I only went for a drink in the really cosy bar, but after sampling a couple of the great local ales and...
