We stepped in to grab a quick bite and a beer. Nothing very quick and the offerings were quite slim. I'd think I'd slip into one of many other stops in Aberdeen before going there again. Nice furnishings though, just wish menu matched the eclactic style.

we went for sunday lunch after reading reviews about the 'best sunday roast in town' served between 12pm - 3pm. the chicken was dry, the veg and potatoes were overcooked to the point they had shrivelled. when the food was brought to the table we were told they had no yorkshire puddings left which was disappointing and i think we... My daughter and I passed a number of pubs with crowds of men outside their doors before we found Athenaeum. Seeing groups of women and couples inside made us feel safer. For some reason Aberdeen felt threatening after days and nights in Glasgow, Skye, and Inverness. More openly drunk and yelling groups of men on the street dampened the appeal... More

They have some good beers on. Blue Moon is top. The food is quite interesting and cutely presented but the menu is pretty restricted and it's expensive for what it is. I shared a tea pot of hot cider which was fun. The burger was probably the strangest and most moist one I've ever eaten, which is a good thing.... More

Had a voucher for afternoon tea here. Sandwiches were thrown together, far too much mustard on the ham ones, had to scrap it off and still burned. The scones were solid, more like rock buns, clearly not fresh. The cupcakes had a burnt base and had cream as the topping. There were a few raspberries on for decoration which had... More

Always enjoyed the food here. They also do some nice cocktails. Better than basic pub grub but you will pay a little more for it.

Booked a table for 1pm on a Sunday, though they weren't serving Sunday roasts (despite being advertised on their website) . Arrived with only one other table occupied yet took just under an hour for our food to arrive and other tables arrive after us had been served and finished their meals in this time - all we heard was... We went here last weekend instead of going to Jamie Oliver's as the queue was out the door! The atmosphere was very nice. The starter was quite small though which was a shame as it was nice. I had the burger for my main which was good and my partner had the mussels. We ordered a few cocktails which I... More

I went with my mum for lunch on a Friday. Turned up at 11.45 and they didnt start serving food untill 12 so we had to wait a while, but the atmosphere was nice so we didnt mind too much. What we did mind was that of the 8 or so main dishes at least 3 were unavailable and a... More
