Had seen pictures. The bar is very pretty, but we wanted to eat and the restaurant upstairs is very plain. So we went to the pub next door!

A very poor experience. We were hounded out after just buying a drink - shame because it could have been a good place.
This was the best pub I went to when on a trip through Ireland/N Ireland. The atmosphere is amazing, cozy little snugs and awesome music. The service was great, as was the drinks. A must-see, must-visit!
Fantastic pub, brilliant atmosphere and the bar staff couldn't be more helpful. Special thanks to Michael Cosgrove - Cask Master who was a font of knowledge and helpfulness ! The Crown has a really unique character and I would strongly recommend a visit
This pub, which is allegedly owned by the National Trust, is a gas lit jewel of a place, facing the bus and train centre on Great Victoria Street. If you are a pub affectionado, then this is a must-see. The exterior is covered in glazed tiles, and the interior decorated as my grandfather would have recognised. The gas lamps have...

The Crown is worth going to just to have a look at but if you do you must have a Guinness and sit in one of the wooden booths, I have also been told that the food in the upstairs restaurant is well worth trying.
Wonderful atmospheric setting, with period gas lighting and cosy 'snugs', with an ornate interior of brightly coloured tiles, carvings and glass.
The exterior is decorated in traditional tiles and mosaic - the interior is also decorated with a complex tile mosaics, the red granite topped bar is in an altar style and the bar is lit by gas lamps from...

Even if you don't drink alcohol, you must see this pub. It's exactly what I had hoped to see on my UK and Ireland trip It is so much fun to have a pint and something to eat while sitting in A "snug".
Thsi bar was a favourite for the local for many years and the traditional meeting place for a night in town, now-a-days its a tourist trap with prices to match. Having arranged to meet a friend in the Crown I was stunned to discover the price of drink paying £3.60 for a vodka (no mixer) a pint of cider was...

I would go back just to have the Beef and Guiness Pie. It was very rich and delicious. They also have a nice range of draft brews on tap. The staff can be a bit distracted because they are continually dealing with the non stop flow of tourists.
