Haven't been to Cayenne for a number of years. Always feel that Paul Rankin deserves such great credit for blazing the good food trail in Belfast. Went for a romantic birthday meal for two mid week expecting usual high standards. Chose a la carte rather than set menu. Found ourselves on a corner table - no candle - no bread... More

Our first time in Cayenne for quite a few years, and we quickly realized what we'd been missing! Wonderful food, particularly good starters, especially the squid, followed by lovely lamb, as well as fish of the day, beautifully cooked turbot. Panacotta with raspberries was just perfect, cool, light and tangy with berries tasting of berries rather than sugar. Chocolate fondant looked... More

Went there for the first time with a party on 29 February 2012 for my sons 28th (or 7th) birthday. We all took the set menu (with choices) for two, which was about £60 for two including a bottle of wine. It was only when the food and wine was served that we realised what excellent value for money the... More

We had visited one of Paul Rankin's restaurants 5 years ago and were looking forward to going to Cayenne for my sister's birthday. We both enjoyed the meal and the wine. Good service, calm atmosphere, stylish decor. Recommended.

We had not been to Cayenne since New Years Eve and very much looked forward to returning on Saturday May 12. Five of us enjoyed another top notch Cayenne meal - the special that evening - turbot with a lobster bisque and prawns - was to die for. Service was first class, when someone was available, which wasnt often due... More

I spent a very nice Wednesday evening at Cayenne and the need to book was supported by how quickly the restaurant filled out after we arrived. I believe that the design and decoration of the restaurant could create an acoustic effect that could make the restaurant potentially noisy. We chose one of the set menus which didn't dissapoint in terms... More

This was my first visit to cayene and it will certainly not be our last. first class food, first class service, polite and friendly staff and certainly not over priced for the quality. Wine list great. I work in the service industry and i know how hard it is to please the public. cayene certainly comes out on top. Thank... More

This was a lovely visit last Friday night. Bubbly but not to noisy, this was a very enjoyable experience. Our party of 4 had a variety of starters and mains from a menu that catered for many tastes. Everybody was complimentary about the quality. The helpfulness of the staff also added to the quality of the evening. Wine list was... More

Cannot give a full review as we didn't make it past the starter. Waiter was extremely insulting, and a throwback to arrogant waiters of yesteryear. Rankin would need to buck up his act in training his staff, if they are that unpleasant that you cannot actually make it to the food. Manager was very pleasant and totally understood our complaints,... More
