We visited this restaurant on a Thursday night having spotted a review in local magazine. We were not disapointed! Had to wait a while for a table but enjoed a good bottle of Argentine Torontes whilst doing so. Service was excellent throughout and there was an excellent choice of specials all presented beautifully. Tasteully decorated also. Well worth a visit.

The food was of exceptional quality with the tast of the spices enhanceing the food and not overpowering. The service was excellent, attentive without the presence of the staff being noticeable. Each course was introduced (we had the sample menu) and explained. Yes, the food instant cheap but I believe you do get quality.

This is a stylish and welcoming place. The waiting staff and maitre d' are immaculate; the restaurant is, yes, purple, spacious and minimalist. The food does not match. My starter of three types of lamb was beautifully presented and tender, but the spicing was delicate to the point of bland. Kerala curry consisted of, again, tender cubes of meat, but... More

My wife turned a healthy 50 so what better than to celebrate this milestone at the much talked about PP. Well it was everything and more. After dining at George's past eatery at the Mint & Mustard this was certainly a step up to heaven. The food was incredible with wonderful textures and beautifully cooked. I could go into a... More

I may not be able to vouch for the poppadoms, but the food we had was absolutely top notch. The service was excellent and the restaurant was nicely 'buzzy' for a Monday evening - a mixed demographic of diners enjoying great ambiance and fantastic food served by knowledgeable, interested staff who cared that you had a good time. Thats my... More

Visited this restaurant on a busy Friday evening without a booking but they managed to find us a lovely table with plenty of space. The restaurant is large but does not feel cramped in any way with modern décor. The staff were very attentive and took time to explain all the various dishes on the menu, they also explained that due... More

Somewhat disappointed after regular trips to mint and mustard -menu basically the same but food fails to deliver the same freshness. The restaurant was also very cold and when we commented on this the waitress just smiled and offered no opinion. The food was also tepid as a result. overall average and not worth the bucks.

Totally amazing food could not fault it. Generous portions. Good value and excellent service. A little out of town don't be put off by the greasy spoon next door! Not to be missed!

For anyone that has ever been to Mint & Mustard, Anand George's first Cardiff restaurant over on Whitchurch Road, they should know what to expect here: top notch Indian food that comes with a healthy price tag accompanied by service elements which mostly hit the right notes. Like Mint & Mustard, Purple Popaddom can be located on one of Cardiff's... More

where to begin?think I'll get my only negative out of the way first. The location simply lets it down, the area seems a little rough, not somewhere you'd expect a fine dining restaurant. From the outside a cheap looking burger bar next door does little to instill confidence. However once upstairs and in to the restaurant any worries are instantly gone. From the impeccably dressed manager,to...
