This was my 2nd visit to Simpsons for my 40th birthday and i loved it as much this time as I did 3yrs ago. The service was outstanding, we were looked after by Geoff who made us feel relaxed & special....he even presented me with a plate of chocoloates with Happy 40th Birthday Leigh decorated around the edge in chocolate....it... Lunch at Simpsons is an experience. From the very first we were looked after efficiently and in a friendly manner. The food was innovative, simply served and absolutely delicious. We were served various little extras, which were not on the menu, a wonderful amuse bouche of pea purée, a 'trou' and petit fours. Particularly good was the amazing bread -... More

Without doubt Simpsons ranks amongst the top restaurants in the UK. Service is always friendly but discreet, the ambience is calm but efficient, the food is stunning and the wine list is excellent. During the week Simpsons offers a choice of two prix fixe menus at lunchtime including half a bottle of house wine and these are excellent value.

I have recommended Simpson's to friends and family and all who go say it was an excellent eating experience. The lunch time set menu is good value and includes a half bottle of wine. The staff were attentive but in tune with your pace of eating. The conservatory is pleasant to eat in and garden add to the view.

The food is wonderful, the ambiance is gorgeous, the staff are attentive and the overall experience is 5 star. The one thing I would fault is the rather stuffy lounge, where we are asked would we like to start with champagne. The answer is an all too easy yes when actually I wanted gin and tonic. Feel this is a... More

Pleasant ambience, menu looked nice. The food was presented well, tasted pleasant. But service was unacceptably slowwww to the point that, as an example, our guests had eaten their cheese by the time biscuits were produced, without comment or apology. It was expensive and not exceptional, poor value for money.

Rated this restaurant 4 stars because 3 1/2stars not available. Of course this restaurant is more than average, very good location and the ambiance is great however, although staff are very professional, I find then not cold...but not warm (if you know what I mean). Dined here quite a few times few years back but found that food is a... More

Just been back to Simpsons for the second time this year - this time for dinner. I think for a special occasion (or once a week if money is no object!) this restaurant showcases the best Birmingham has to offers. Brilliant in every way - service, decor, ambience and food. We started with ice cold gin and tonics - and... More
