Description: Offering a taste of Italy to the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon, the Sorrento Restaurant serves for pre-theatre dinner from 5.00pm each day, with a tempting 2 or 3 courses offered for £13.50 and £17.50 respectively. Sorrento is a family-run Italian restaurant that offers high-class dishes, using the finest and freshest ingredients. The interior is elegant yet unimposing, with classic Neapolitan decor and stylish seating. The menu is hearty and flavoursome, including deep fried squid, pasta with garlic, chilli, olive oil, rocket leaves and parsley, salmon and lemon sole with capers and garlic, and veal flamed in brandy with mushrooms and cream sauce. On average, a sumptuous 3 course meal costs an affordable £35 per person. For lunch, there is the 2/3 course set menu available from Tuesday to Saturday, as well as daily chef's specials. Examples include a half lobster with king prawns and mussels, served with linguini and a white wine, tomato, garlic and chilli sauce. Just 4 minutes from the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre, peaceful al fresco dining is available on the terrace.

We often travel to Stratford on Avon for a theatre visit , we like to stay over , have Dinner & meet friends . On this occasion we decided to try Sorrento after a recommendation . The decor is probably dated but I was there for the food & drink . I was not disappointed , my wife & me... More

We had such a lovely meal here when we visited Stratford on a mini break. The food was wonderful and the service superb. We still talk about it and compare it to the chain restaurants we have visited which are nowhere near as good. We always try and support local independent restaurants where possible and were so glad we found... More

Despite its slightly 80/90s decor, this Resteraunt offers a great choice of food, especially sea food, cooked superbly and with an excellent wine list. I can reccomend the 'suggested' wines. The service is friendly, yet efficient and the range I'd deserts is first class. I have used enough superlatives so I will end now. If you like Italian food and... More

Really impressed with this place. Visited Stratford for the weekend and stumbled across Sorrento. They were full at 8pm but told us to come back at 9, which we did. We were seated at the two-seater, window table. This was really quaint and although a full restaurant, the overall experience was personal. The food was authentically Italian/Sicilian and I'm really... More

Pleasant decor, tables not too close, attentive and individual service combined with a good menu with well prepared food makes this restaurant stand out from the crowd. We enjoyed our meal and the helpful but unobtrusive staff. Will return.

We were recommended to this restaurant by our landlady and we were so pleased we followed it up. The staff were all friendly and professional, welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. The menu was very extensive, and a little confusing if the truth be known as nearly all the options said that they could be taken as part of the... More

I wasn't sure what to expect bearing in mind the polarised views expressed by others but we were given a friendly welcome, followed by prompt, attentive and helpful service plus a superb pre-theatre two course meal for £14.90 each. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will return.

I didn't rate alot of the 'gastro pubs' in Stratford Upon Avon, however this place was excellent. Not a faux olde English Sausage insight, it had a good wine selection, a brilliant range of specials when I was there and plenty of choice on the menu otherwise. The warm was welcome, staff very helpful, all in all, a fantastic place... More

This restaurant truly is a taste of Sorrento. Having visited Sorrento for our honeymoon last year, my husband and I longed to recreate the fabulous food we had enjoyed there. This Italian restaurant did just that! We both had the cannelloni and were blown away by it. We also ordered a bread basket which was freshly baked, still warm and... More
