We had a really enjoyable, if quite unusual, meal here. I mean, how often have you eaten French 'tapas'? And it is certainly authentically French - we much enjoyed chatting to Michel the owner and chef. Having eaten a decent lunch earlier in the day, all we needed was a light meal - but we were still hoping for something... More

Couldn't believe we hadn't heard of this place as we've lived in Bath all our lives! Fantastic food, excellent service, very good for trying several different dishes. Extremely good value. Great ambiance! Will definitely visit again!

Michel very warm and welcoming. Delightful enclosed rear, sunny courtyard garden. Reasonably priced, superb food, great wine selection and friendly staff. We were thrilled to discover this gem.

Went for dinner early evening on a cold and wet first night in Bath. The food was excellent. We had four small plates and two vegetable sides plus bread and olives. Two of the small plates were from the specials board and two from the main menu, all were delicious. Not having much knowledge of European wines, we choose a... More

I loved this place. The food was delicious and the fact that you can order small plates and share them is wonderful. Also really liked the idea of having very good quality wine by the glass as it meant we could try different wines - all if which were excellent. Would highly recommend it.

The food was well prepared and as we ate off the lunch menu, it was very good value for money. However, I felt that some if the flavours weren't too great, and therefore was a little disappointed by some of the food. For example, the tomato and shallot salad was some half cooked tomato and Shallots with some basil. This... More

Great concept "small plates" " small main courses and a side for only £9,95 and the choice is excellent and the food superb. Great staff, great food and a reasonable price. Rest of Bath will need to raise the game if they are to compete

Six women for a pre theatre supper ordering one of almost everything on the menu didn't phase this charming French host. The dishes were delicious and especially a stuffed mushroom was superb. We drank with pleasure a fruity light white Cotes de Gascogne which was suggested by our Frenchman and had a lovely and efficiently served tasting of many of... More

Great meal, really enjoyed the way you can choose two main meals (just smaller portions) "Petit Plats". Friendly staff and great service, would highly reccommend to anyone visiting Bath. Dont waste your money on the overpriced mainstream restaurants go to BISTRO LA BARRIQUE.
