Be sure to make your reservations- this place is delicious. It's off the main City central area, but worth the walk.

We dropped in for our office Christmas meal a busy period that often tests the very best establishments, however not the Chequers team. The menu was spit on full of seasonal produce. The cooking was Devine, creative but not overwhelming, everyone commented of amazing the turkey tasted!. The interior has been sympathetically restored and it's not hard to imagine how... More

Have been to The Chequers a few times and it always delivers. Simply the best roast I've had in a pub, and reasonably priced for the quality you get. Decent service and if the weather is up to it I'd recommend sitting outside on the quiet residential street just minutes away from the Royal Crescent.

Lovely gastro pub. Staff looked after us and gave us a choice of sitting upstairs (more formal) or downstairs (in the bar). We sat downstairs as it has a bit more ambience and is less formal. Had a great meal overall. the only negative was I had to send my steak back - I had requested medium/ rare and it... More

Huge serving of fish and chips! Fresh and crispy batter on the fish and lovely thick chips with mushy peas was great.

Visited here for Sunday lunch with our daughter after finding it on Tripadvisor. Booked online as we noted it got very busy on a Sunday. Glad we did as it was full - had to take a 2pm slot as earlier wasn't available. Daughter had roast beef with yorkshire pudding while my wife and I had venison with bread sauce.... More

We needed to meet friends from Devon halfway on a Sunday so chose Bath. We had left it late so I couldn't get a table at the usual places and somebody suggested The Chequers. When I called they said they wanted us to take an earlier table but when I explained the predicament of us travelling from London and the... More

Went here in a group of 10 so were asked to pre order, which was no problem. Most people had the squid which was very good. The chicken rillettes preordered was not available but again no problem. Main courses - steak with home made chips or fries, Mendip lamb with curried chick peas, chicken with wild mushrooms, pan fried sea... More
