weekday set lunch was excellent, atmosphere pleasantly relaxed and inexpensive - 2 courses £8 or 3 for £10. We'll be back!
Found us a table on a Saturday, even without a reservation. Four of us, having four different mains and all were thoroughly satisfied with their meals. Good food, good value - and excellent service
Came across this place whilst searching for somewhere different to try, not knowing what to expect in this area of Oxford. Wonderful discovery. Seating is a little cramped, but the food more than makes up for it. Had the 2 course lunch menu, excellent freshly made Tomato & Lentil soup, followed by an equally gorgeous and massive organic burger. Even... More
Have been back several times using gourmet soc card. Different specials and frequently changing menu with good wine. Great service too and nice bistro feel. One of our favourite places for date nights in Oxford!
Oxford is so full of the typical chains (Ask, Zizzi, Nando's etc) that it's always nice to see an independent little restaurant doing well... It gets very busy in Door 74, with studenty types with their parents and grandparents, couples, yummy mummies... This makes for a pleasant, lively atmosphere. Friendly service as well. Quirky decor (monkey sculptures, etchings on the... More
Due to having a very short lunch break we called to order our food prior to arrival. The food arrived promptly and piping hot. The starters, carrot fritters and soup of the day were delicious. The main courses, mushroom risotto, bubble and squeak and burger and chips were outstanding. Due to us running out of time we were kindly provided... More
We have stayed in Oxford twice in the last few months and stumbled upon this restaurant thanks to a very helpful local. I can honestly say it is currently my favourite place to eat. The service is friendly and professional, the ambience is perfect and the food is second to none. I need to find an excuse to get back... More
My friend and I were visiting Oxford for the day and walking down Cowley Road towards the city centre. We'd been browsing in the shops and as we passed by Door 74 we noticed the menu which looked interesting and varied., so feeling hungry,we went in. There was only one table occupied by two people who were about to leave... More
A bit quiet for lunch on Sunday, but good quality of food for both vegitarian and omnivore. A very acceptable Burger and fries hit the spot. Good choice of music playing as well.
We recently went to Door 74 for dinner having read rave reviews here on Tripadvisor. Sadly we cannot agree with these other reviewers. We were celebrating a birthday, and booked our table several days in advance. Knowing we were bringing a baby and a toddler, we specifically asked for room for a buggy and a pram at the table. (Originally... More
